This would take all the fun out of going to Taco Bell

Drive Thru ban under consideration by North Central Texas Council of Governments

In an effort to reduce pollution, they are looking at how feasible and beneficial banning the use of drive thru's from April through October would be. Those months are the "primary time for ozone", as the article states.

That's what we have to worry about now? How much time vehicles spend at the drive thru window?

As long as they leave the drive-through liquor by the drink places alone, I'm fine with it..............

Not only is that reeeaaal lazy but it's annoying to drive down looking at the selection, backup to the beginning, drive down again back half way up, pick up a 6 pack, head to the register turn around, put the 6 pack back because all of a sudden you want a good pilsner, not a pale ale, start at the beginning, look at all the beer, trying to find a good pilsner. man, I would just rather get out and walk in.

If D/FW rush hours are anything like Houston, perhaps their time would be better spent trying to do something about the amount of time a lot more vehicles spend idling on the freeway, not a few vehicles in a fast food drive-thru.

Out of curiosity, what is your gender? You sound like you shop like all the girlfriends I have ever had.

I generally know what I want before I leave the house. I go, get what I want, leave the store and go home.

Maybe DC has somehting to do with this. They figure if they cut down the idle time they don't have to replace so many injectors.

Just a thought....

I keep my ignition key separate from my door key so I can listen to my diesel idle while eating in McDonalds . The drive thru's are too short. Besides, there isn't any such thing as a "fast food" restaurant any more.
