Wood Floor help

Wood floor installed in the kitchen about 10 years ago. Wood was glued to the concrete floor. No idea what type of adhesive(it's green). Now the "boss" has decided to redo the floor which means the wood floor must come up. I have tried to pry it up, used a jack-hammer with a blade, used a portable plainer, even sprayed a small area with WD -40. I've cut across the floor so the wood sections are much smaller etc. I can't get it to come up. I don't want to use any smelly solvent etc in the house or anything that might burn the house down. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use to either soften up the adhesive or any type of tool to use to get the wood up with------
Thanks in advance
Jay

Your local rental store should be able to provide you with a Bosch or similar brand of rotary/chipping hammer. Use a wide blade to as little damage as possible to the concrete under the floor. You may have to finish it off with a sander to level it out when you've got the bulk of the wood up. Sounds like it's going to be a job!

Drive a small wedge or prybar under the end of one of the boards.
Take a long sawzall blade, grind the teeth off the blade so it is smooth.
Now, take the sawzall and start the blade under the wood where your wedge is and work your way down. It will cut the adhesive, but not tear up the wood or the concrete.

No silver bullet???????????? I tried to chipping hammer--not much success. I'm using a small pry bar and a hammer and trying to get under the plank and pry it up. I was hoping there was something that would work that was eaiser on the knees and back.

Good luck getting that stuff up! I've helped lay about 2500 sq ft of that type of floor and once its down its down. You've got your work cut out for you that's for sure. I wish you the best of luck!
