Woman Gets Life Term For Shoplifting

Justice run amuck or judicial common-sense? What do you think?

At first I was thinking what 3rd world country is doing that? I never thought I'd see that in the USA...

However, given the history of that woman... i'd say sure. Enough is enough... now if they would only do that with some of the worse offenses.

Nah, in an Islamic country, it would be loss of a hand or stoning, not a life sentence.

I guess a life sentence is close to a tall oak tree and a short rope...

"Woman Gets Life Term For Shoplifting"

That is crap. She earned a life term with a pattern of behavior.

I agree it is not worth the cost, make her and every other prisoner work at supporting their facility...farm it, clean it and maintain it.

Bad prisoners immediately report to the chicken coop and clean the drop.

i guess the way i see it, we were paying for her to live with the help of welfare and probably all the other gov subsidies. so it wont bother me too much to keep paying for her to live in prison now, she belongs there more than the outside. i just wish sometimes we could have an alternate way to take care of life-long criminals and other hardened criminals without being a burden to hard working honest taxpayers. put em all on a deserted island or something far far away.

The deserted island has been tried it was called Australia.
As bad as I hate to admit it Mexico has the right idea. NO WORK, NO EATS.
Mexstan, you may be able to help me out with this but my understanding of prison in Mexico is that you will do something in order to support yourself. The government may put you in prison but they don’t feed you, you must do that yourself.
This is just my understanding, if someone knows more about this I will gladly stand down.

As for the shoplifting she got what she had coming.
