I had all 4 done a couple of years ago. I had to eat soup for 3-4 days before I tried a sandwich. That sandwich was the best thing I have ever tasted. The worse part was I couldn't chew copenhagen for a week, which I guess might have been a good time to quit.

I got all 4 of mine in right now and thinking about getting them out........I hate denists so I'm not real crazy about having them done. Good thing my girlfriend is a oral surgery assistant.......she can babysit me and make me feel better

I figured if you're going to get one done, you might as well get all four done. That is one experience you don't want to have multiple times. Mine were getting so bad I couldn't eat anything because of the pain.

Thumbs up

Mine wern't giving any pain or trouble but 2 had huge cavities and instead of patching them up, I opted for the surgery. Got a script for 2 Seconal pills...knocked me silly. Then the next day at the office, liquid Demeral put out the lights...this was in my rattlesnake days and he wanted to make sure I didn't wake up in the middle of the show so he loaded me up good...didn't know anything until the next afternoon.
Had to have one irrigated a coupla days later...smelled very much bad too! .
All in all, it wasn't a bad thing and got shed of those poor excuses for teeth.

I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled out a few yrs ago when i was 19. It wasn't too bad, it really wasn't as bad as people make it out to be. I don't remember much of the visit as the oral surgeon's, i remember right before i got gases and put out and i remember bits and pieces of when i was waking up. I do recall making the staff in the office laugh at me because of whatever i was saying. And that i tried to leave on my own in a wheel chair while i was still drugged up. Now my suggestion is to be knocked out. When you get home (have someone drive you) from the surgery, turn on your favorite cartoon, they are extremely funny when you are all drugged up from the anestetics and pain meds. My choice was Shrek, not only was it funnier than if i watched it normal, it also keeps your mind off of the pain if you have some. Thats's my $0.02.

I got the "QUAD JOB" 'bout 25 years ago. Bottom 2 were laying down; he had to drill & break them up to get'em out. Top 2 were standard pull-me-outs. Novacaine-I think about 1/2 gallon 'cause he stuck me about 6-7 times on each one. Hell, I couldn't even feel my ****!!!

Worst thing about the whole thing was spitting oozing blood for about 1 1/2
days. Had to spit about every 10 min.

Wisdom teeth twern't near as bad as 6-7 ingrown toenails I've had removed.
Wanna' hear 'bout them? .... ....

yeah I had all 4 yanked out at one time when I was about 40. I just had the IV and I was out before I got to 5. Woke up in a dark room and thought I was in ......ll Iwas hot, cold sweating, freezing and spitting blood like Alee had nailed me with a left hook. I couldn't eat solid for a week. I still played baseball but dang did it hurt when I hit. Everytime I caught a ball it felt like a firecracker went off in my mouth. I couldn't take the pills as they were drugs that were outlawed. All I could use was the syringe and warm water to flush out the massive holes. they eventually gerw over and I haven't had trouble since.
Maybe I should just get all the rest yanked out...then I wouldn't have anymore tooth trouble.
The actuall event was totally painless... just the aftermath.

I still have all four in...last time I got x-rays at the dentist, she told me they would absolutely have to come out by spring break or else they were going to start hurting "real bad real soon"....that was 4 years ago and I havent ever had a pain from them..i dont trust dentists and I will probably be eating my words in a year or so when they do start to hurt...

i got parts of 2, one just finished growing and one just started. the lower right one is pretty much gone. the skin has already grown into the middle of the tooth. the lower left one still bothers me a little but its about 6 months behind the right one, so im not worried about it.

I had mine busted up and pulled out 2 years ago. I had worried about those darn things for 10 years and put up with them breaking and chipping. One day at the dentist and it's over. The same night I was eating veggie soup. The main thing is don't drink anything carbonated as this will give you dry socket also if you smoke draw on that cigerette very lightly. Other than that gargle warm salt water a couple times a day and it will all be over before you know it! I'm mad at myself for putting it off for so long!
After reading John Halters story I kind of hope one more grows in so I can visit the twins!

Update

All four wisdom teeth are now out and I feel horrible. One of the top teeth had four roots (dentist said this is unusual, normally there's only three)--lucky me . The lowers were impacted, one at a 45 degree angle, the other completly sideways. I've been puking up blood all day today and now look similar to a chipmunk (dang swelling). Vicodin is pretty good stuff at this point.

I feel for ya bro.... mine all have "hooks", the roots go down and do a 180 like a fish hook...they cant pull them, gotta cut'em out..lucky genetics or something...
hang in there.. it will get better, just dont think about stuff like BBQ, steaks, chocolate cake and such... try to avoid that........

i had mine pulled a few years back. one was pulled under local freezing and it hurt like hell, but it was infected so i needed it out.. the other 3 were pulled 9 months later under full sleep.. slept all day the day they were pulled, next day i was fine [no swelling, no pain killers] couldn't eat really solid food for like 2 weeks though
