Evenin' all!

-25* and falling. Been dropping slowly all day. The bottom is gonna fall out tonight. Supposed to stay that way for a few days. No luck with a changing forecast either.

Topped off the truck with an extra dose of anti-gel on the way to work tonight.....

warm/snow/cold/warm/snow/cold repeat as needed. -30 last night and clear, -20 and snowing this morning. Oh well.

The reason that the auto industry still uses vacuum systems, is because AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!! (Did I say that out loud?) Seriously enough, I enjoy working with negative pressure systems, as opposed to some of this fly by wire crap we have these days.

All is well in happyworldland as usual, got to work on a medium duty International truck today ( 13 letters of misery ) turns out the sensor I needed to change was under the valve cover. They really should have stuck to farm tractors.

Otherwise only a couple more sleeps til the longest night, then we're on the backslide again...weeeeeeeeeeee

Have a good one people.

You only half figured it out. Whenever somebody comes south I get them to bring stuff down with them plus get them to take stuff back north and mail things. Places where I order frequently such as Amazon have a whole list of different drop ship addresses under my name.

This is not a gloat, but serious for a change. Here is today's forecast and the reason I got away from that horrible stuff so many of you are experiencing right now. It's a bit cool at the moment as the sun still has not come up and also the humidity is unusually high, but by 9 a.m. the humidity will be on it's way down and the temperature high enough for me to be outside in shorts and sweating as I work outside in the sun. This is the kind of winter I enjoy and not be forced to shovel snow twice a day or chip ice off the car before going anywhere.

Mornin'. At those cruel temperatures you could place boiling coffee on the counter and it would be iced in seconds!
BTW, did a job once with a wind chill of close to minus 60.

I used to work on heavy equipment. Spent many winter days in the bottom of an open mine pit at -40* with the wind howling. Lots of fun to be had there.....

Morning. Looks like somebody was watching and the snowmachine died off. Have to take a look at what's wrong with it. This big, bright yellow thing has the sky all lit up now.... kind of annoying....

Coffee's fermenting... poo in the foo... dragon stretched and stoked for a long day.

Oh... a propane torch (no flame lit!) can help find any of those vacuum leaks.

Morning all.

Today is Wednesday, December 15th. Only 9 days and 15 hours 'til Christmas.

On this day in 1654 - A meteorological office established in Tuscany began recording daily temperature readings. (wonder if they were monitoring underground cloud formations too?)

1791 - In the U.S., the first ten amendments to the Constitution, known as the Bill of Rights, went into effect following ratification by the state of Virginia.

1877 - Thomas Edison patented the phonograph.

1890 - American Sioux Indian Chief Sitting Bull and 11 other tribe members were killed in Grand River, SD, during an incident with Indian police working for the U.S. government.

1938 - U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt presided over the ground-breaking ceremonies for the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, DC.

1944 - American forces invaded Mindoro Island in the Philippines.

1961 - Former **** official Adolf Eichmann was sentenced to death in Jerusalem by an Israeli court. He had been tried on charges for organizing the deportation of Jews to concentration camps.

1964 - Canada's House of Commons approved a newly designed flag thereby dropping the Canadian "Red Ensign" flag.

1966 - Walter Elias "Walt" Disney died in Los Angeles at the age of 65.

1970 - The Soviet probe Venera 7 became the first spacecraft to land softly on the surface of Venus. The probe only survived the extreme heat and pressure for about 23 minutes and transmitted the first data received on Earth from the surface of another planet.

1981 - The U.S. Congress passed $200 billion spending bill. At the time it was the largest in U.S. history.

1983 - The last 80 U.S. combat soldiers in Grenada withdrew. It was just over seven weeks after the U.S.-led invasion of the Caribbean island.

2000 - The Chernobyl atomic power plant in Kiev, Ukraine, was shut down.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Have you ever noticed that when you've lost something, some clown always asks, "Where'd you lose it?" If we knew the answer to that question, wouldn't the object not be lost in the first place?

Man, you sure do have a warped sense of humor. Something like mine. I like it
We so seldom have any clouds down here that that space is normally blank and it is almost strange to see an elevation given.

Gloat over. Keep sending that cold stuff towards FiverBob. Sounds like he can handle it just fine.

Hey Scottie, when did you say that you are moving to Mexico?

Yep, I read it that way. How many RV's can you park at your place, Stan? Hookups? Maid service? Dancing girls? Let's organize and flood him, gang. What day should we arrive? On second thought, let's not let him know - - more fun for him to wake up and see a hodgepodge of Dodge(s) and RV's sitting in his front yard. Oh boy, mama will brain ole Stan.

Hey, great party last night, another tomorrow night (gggrrrrr - - another birthday -- 39 again), lots of stuff cooking so I am gone.

Bob

Morning guys... Sorry I haven't been around much. Some kid triple dog dared me to stick my tongue to a flag poll. Took awhile for the Fire Department to get me unstuck.

You still HAVE birthdays at your age? I can only say 'don't use candles'. Frosting is flammable with THAT much heat close to it. Happy B'day Bob!
