As some of you already know my puppy has been sick. I was told today he needs a blood transfusion and a bone marrow biopsy and an aspiration. Tomorrow he goes in. the Vet was very blunt with me and told me it's going to buy him some time but we don't know how long. This has been so hard for the past 4 days and seeing him go through this. It is breaking my heart.
If you all would please say a prayer that he will make it through this horrible ordeal it would greatly be appreciated.

I couldn't bear to lose one of our cats (2). We certainly can't even begin to understand your anquish, BUT, yes your puppy is in our prayers.

hope he pulls thru it. looks like you guys have really tried to keep him going so hope he makes it.

 

He goes into surgery between 8:30 and 9:00 this morning. I get to bring him home after the surgery. I won't have any news for a few days though.The waiting game,just that much more worrying.
Just to let you all know alittle more about what is going on.It is a type of Anemia in the bone marrow that completely shuts down so that means his bone marrow has quit producing the red blood cells.The first surgery this morning will be the blood transfusion. There are 3 surgeries.
We have a donor dog,you will know that that dog is not an exact match,what that means is if his bone marrow doesn't start producing than he can never be transfused again. You know what that means.Been up and down all night so so worried!

Cin , I wish there wa ssomethign to say that would actually make things better, but...........
All I can do is say a prayer, and hope that things work out as best they can for you and your pup.
Will be keeping you both in my prayers.......

 

Cin........keep your chin up. It is hard to understand God's plan sometimes, but he has one, and all we can do is follow along. Prayers coming.

 

Holding Leevi at the vet this morning crying like a little baby looking at him,he also had tears running down from his eyes as he looked up at me.I know I have to stay strong for him! I just wish I could go in the O.R. with him to let him know I'm physically with him not just emotionally and mentally.

This disease he has is called Aplastic Anemia.

I hope and pray that all goes well, one of the worst things to see is an animal in pain or suffering.

I just called the Vet and he just had his blood transfusion.They said he was doing well.

Sorry to hear about your dog Cin but good to hear from you.

 

Okay, Leevi just got out of surgery about a half an hour ago.The Vet said he was doing good.Now we have to wait another 3-4 days for all the test results to come in.I am trying to keep it together ,I tell you it is just so darn hard.
I will be so glad to go pick him up and give him a very very big hug and kiss.
