Whoooo!whooo!
Got my airhorn on late last nite. As I was driving thru the country, I kind of merged up parallel with a locomotive, I laid down on horn, and the train blasted me back. Cool! I'll try to behave, but it is gonna be hard to.
I have access to a big truck junk yard....
I got two horns off a peterbuilt, 5 gallon air tank, actuator valve, all for $30...
5 per horn,
and then
$20 for the tank
anf he threw in the valve..
This was in South Georgia

Mine is a Grover 3 piece horn, a viair 280-C compressor, and I only have a 3 gallon tank, I need a bigger one. I bought it from a friend that had it and never put it on. I don't know where he got it. Just google locomotive or air horns, theres lots of sites. Hornblasters.com is pretty neat site with complete kits, that's all I know about them though. I love it. I find myself kind of hoping someone drifts toward me while they are talking on their cell phone. I'm actually not mature enough to own one of these, but thankfully I did not get screened. HeHe.

I am jealous. I want to mount a York compressor, though. I've BEEN wanting air horns. The OEM horn is downright embarassing. I can't believe they would put that on a 7,000 pound truck. If I do it, I really want to find a way to put a cord in the roof like on the big rigs. That would be so sweet!
I have not installed htese yet, because of that reason... I plan on mounting compressor and tank where the spare belongs, and just leave the spare in the bed.
I do not have the compressor yet, but I could buy one from there if I wanted to and work it into my serpentine system, but I want the 12V option. I am also gonna plumb in an auxilary air chuck through my back bumper for onboard air capabilities to air up and down myself or motorists...
