Angry Whats everyones opinion??? Im being serious...

Ok...I got off work yesterday morning and needed to get some fuel, so I went to my usual watering hole and began filling up...I was at 1/4 tank! Once filling, I looked at the price and it was $3.15!! I needed the fuel so I filled up and came home.

Fastfoward to today...I had to take my truck in for some warranty work and began to get irrate at paying $3.15...I really almost lost it when gasoline is $2.55. My buddy picks me up and we go to the gym for a few hours and that does nothing but make me madder and madder!

Since Im selling my boat, I dont really need my truck anymore. Im also fixing to buy a house and having something that fits in the garage is a plus not to mention a cheaper vehicle note! So I start looking at 07-08 durango's. I found an 07 4x4 with leather and 21k miles for $23k...thats not to bad at all. If I sell my truck for what I owe, I would knock alot of a car payment and I wont spend thousands on all the mods.

What do youll think. I looked around at the dealer today...im hoping I will calm down by tomorrow and not make any brash decisions...

Breathe deeply and sleep on it... Fuel may be cheaper for gassers right now but that could easily change. My CTD gets as good or better milage than Mamas 06 T&C.

Can't help with the payment part but slow down on the mods and do them one at a time to save the $$$$.

Fuel prices suck right now no matter the fuel type.

I hear ya on the fuel prices. Just yesterday morning is was $3.19 and I went to put in fuel later that afternoon and it shot up to $3.30 a gallon. My grandfather is paying near $3.70 in California, way out of control. I guess crude oil just shot through the roof, again.

With me being in school full time and working as much as I can it's gettng pretty hard to pay around $100 or more to fuel up my truck and it's even harder to make those truck notes. I've often throught about downsizing but I can't seem to let go. Im sure if the price of fuel keeps rising I won't have my truck for to much longer. It's a sad thing to say but it's a fact.

For the meantime im going to sleep on it, I don't want to make a dumb decision and then kick my self later on.

$3.49 here. I told my Dad (also my boss) I was about to start riding my KLR motorcycle to work and back, 100 mile round trip. He talked to the head honcho, and I ended up getting diesel paid for... I was about to sell my truck. Gotta say it makes sense. My dad is getting a new truck and selling me his Dmax (im keeping the Dodge). He passed on the LMM to get a gasser...the mileage may be worse, but for $8k difference, and diesel being $0.50 more, I say do what you have to...

3.35 for me. My truck is more than I need most of the time, but if I ever go and rent a tractor ar bobcat for home use I have to rent a truck too, just to get it home. They wont let you pull their stuff anymore with a half ton truck. besides my CTD gets the same or better mileage than a gasser half ton, but like I said I like my big truck. My neighbor has a chevy 2500 hd gasser and says he only gets 8-9 mpg. I know too that up north here the blended fuel now costs more.

My cummins gets much better milage than my former '01 Ford super duty with the 5.4 gas engine. The cost of diesel has to be 75 cents a gallon more than gas just to break even on milage costs. The towing power is no comparision. The CTD wins hands down! cdru

I would say you have to do what ever is best for your situation. The current situation with oil/fuel prices isnt going to change very soon (IMO). Do what is right for you and dont look back.

If there is any question at all in your mind, don't do it. Everytime you pass a CTD you will grow more despondent. Then you will quit working out, start drinking more, get fired, and end up living in the durango. Recipe for disaster. If I was closer I would pistol whip you.

The gasoline is cheaper, no doubt but you'll get the same mileage, maybe less and won't be able to pull jack. Besides, if you lowered your payments, got better mileage and like the Durango better, what would you have to whine about?

Honestly, life is too short to let high fuel prices get you down. If the cost of fueling your truck hurts more than it should, sell it and don't look back. Find a way to meet your tranportation needs at a cost you can more comfortably afford.

Since I will soon be unemployed (hopefully not for long), I may end up selling my truck. If it happens, so be it. But my truck is now paid for, so things would have to get pretty bad for that to happen. But I'd sell my truck before I sold my guitars. If you see me hocking custom guitars, then you know I'm REALLY hard up!

I wouldn't consider buying new if I was getting rid of one vehicle because it cost more than I wanted. That's stepping from the frying pan into the fire imo. If it REALLY is about saving money, you ought to buy used.

*think beyond the month*

its not about the money, however the lower note would be nice. its the fact i dont need my truck anymore and i would kinda like something more comfortable...i dont really know what im thinking right now! i love my truck, but ive had it for a year and a half and i started tallying up all the money ive spent on it that i will never see again! and i dont seem to keep anything for longer than 2 yrs so that might why im getting antsy also

Reasons like this are the type of reasons that made me go drop 600$ to buy 94 jeep cherokee, I just drive whatever is cheaper at the time.
