What say You About

I am looking for a new pair of binoculars for these tired old eyes.I have always been partial to 7x50's as they seem to work well for me.I have read different sets of reviews and have narrowed my choices to either the Fujinon 7x50 FMT-SX or the Steiner Commander XP 7x50's.I considered the Docter Nobilem 7x50 B/GA's,but I don't want to think about East German customer service. The Zeiss 7x50 GA T Marine's looked great but are not in my price range. So,what say you all knowledgeable members of DTR?Any real world experience with any of these units? The purpose may be defined as "general".

I can't help you but can only say, if you think you might get the Steiner Comander than just spend the extra bucks and get the Zeiss. The wife is gonna kill you anyway so ya might as well die happy.

7x50 is a good all purpose magnification and lens size.

I have a pair of Bushnell 7x50 at big 5 for around 25 bucks after the coupons and rebates. I have had them for over 20 years and I always reach for them first....bright, clear and solid.

My better binos aren't as user friendly or bright as these, and the higher power doesn't do much but cause me to see the shakes more!!

Plus I am not as careful with the Bushnell's so I can relax.

One theory is that this time of the year binoculars are used primarily for observing wildlife on the beach (or neighbors pool).
Its advisable to use a cheaper pair just in case your wife uses them on your head.
Maybe you should check back when it gets cooler.
