what a pansy...

i pulled up to the pumps this morning on the way to work to fill up my thirsty beast, when a guy in a chevy 2500 pulls up in the stall next to me. i notice him raising up the tonneau cover and digging around. then i see him pull out a glove. he slips the glove on and then proceeds to the pump. guess he's too good to get a little diesel on his hands...what a wuss!!
later, dustin

I carry a box of latex gloves under the back seat for filling up.

Diesel fuel on your hands does nasty things to your leather steering wheel cover.
And also makes your sandwich taste a little funny.

I'm a wuss too.

I use gloves too but when you fill up at mostly truckstops the pumps handles are usually nasty cause every one else uses gloves too. the diesel dont bother me but the grease does then it seems to spread to every thing else you touch.......just my 2 cents

I thought you were suppose to take the gloves OFF to fill your truck?!?!
That way you can preserve the smell of diesel and share it later with everyone you shake hands with!

Color me a wuss as well but I only use one glove, and only because the handles are literraly dripping in the stuff.

When I fill up in the auto diesel isles and the pumps are nice and clean I go gloveless

Yup, I'm a wuss too. I keep a pair of rubberized gloves under my seat that I use for filling up, and for dumping the holding tanks on my fiver.

I wear gloves, but they're worn out work gloves with holes in them. Am I still a pansy?

As long as they aren't white with sequins on them, you are probably OK

Neither was I. I've usually got the smell of diesel on me one way or another (my wallet got soaked the other day working on my roommates truck) so what's the big deal with a little on my hands. Heck, I'll be up to my arms in the stuff and still eat a sandwich without washing my hands. I'm not a very heiginic (sp) person.

I keep a pair of old roping gloves in the drivers map pocket for that purpose. That way if I get to missing that sweet diesel smell,I have a source as close as my left knee.
