Don’t take this the wrong way, I think that we are doing what the rest of the world is too afraid to do and it d*mn sure needs doing. But what happens if we do not find any chemical and nuclear weapons. <br><br><br>

You pose an interesting question that we all are concerned with, to differing degrees I'm sure. I personally feel that it is highly likely that such WMD do exist. There are too many separate pieces of information available. Patience is required for the sources to develop and the locations to be captured and documented. <br>~Dave

<br>Not trying to start a war on these pages (I like it here) but this was just a thought that I had after hearing a news report that was saying “ no sign of WMD”. You know how the news people are when there is no news they make some. I only hope and pray that we find the stuff and it does not find us.<br> <br><br>

News people. Well there you go. I've been dialed into Fox News Channel for the bulk of this and you're lucky to get two newsies to say the same thing. They jump at the slightest hint of a news item and blow it up to the worst possible situation. Just watch the formal news conferences. Listen to some of the questions these people ask. Absurd, ridiculous. Don't these &quot;intelligent&quot; (if you believe their opinion of themselves) understand the meaning of, NO!!!, as in we have troops on the move and don't want to compromise their situation by providing you with current and critical tactical information.

 

From my own experience over the years I would NOT trust the media. They habitually distort or slant the news to make the most impact. They assist the enemy with all their dis-information. Peter Jennings is one of the worst. Right now the media for some reason (I know why but refuse to get into that here) are doing everything to paint a black picture for George Bush and the American government. In some ways the media are traitors. They do NOT report just the bare facts!<br>In todays news some of the Iraq trops are carrying gas masks and respirators. Why? To protect themselves from gas shot at them by the coalition forces? Hardly! <br>What about the 9 Scud missiles already shot towards the coalition forces? The Scuds that Saddam supposedly did not posses or declare.<br>What about the three ships that the US are tracking that are sailing around in circles on the high seas. There is suspicion that these ships may be carrying a lot of Saddam's banned WMD. At this time there is fear that if they are boarded that they could blow themselves up thereby creating global disaster.<br>It is absolutely clear that the opposition to war is NOT based on taking the higher moral ground. It is rather based on a <br>combination of willful ignorance, political advantage, cynical self-interest and an incredible, white-hot hatred of George Bush that has been fanned by American liberals to the degree that for much of the world, Saddam wins the global<br>popularity contest hands-down.<br>

well they have fired scud missiles at us a few times allready in the UN deal he is not supposed to have them anyways! so if he has this missiles im sure he has chemical and if not nukes or something just as bad! been nothing for BS AND LIES for 12 years now!!!!!!!!

 

Don't get me started on the media, we have to deal with them everyday, believe me , they could care less about YOU.<br><br>Anyway, we have to secure the country before we can start really probing. It does sound like 3rd I.D. may have come across a chem. plant.

 

The thing that irritates me is how they repeat the same thing over and over. Like a reporter in the field will go thru a whole story about an event, then the person in the studio will ask him 5 questions that the reporter has already answered. Am i the only one who pays attention to the guy when he's talking the first time?

 

Hey, they have to do something to fill in the time. Dead air is a no-no, but in many cases would be welcome. Hope I don't start a war here, but to me reporters and many in the media are in the same class as lawyers which makes them one step below telephone solicitors.

 

Ya know it's a war. Nobody said it's gonna be good fun, a fair match etc. <br>If the US troops &quot;secured&quot; the country and then find something it will be called a mockup or faked evidence etc. <br>If any troops would attack Austria right now they would find our soldiers equipped with gas masks and a basic ABC gear- just plain standard equipment. Can you conclude that Austria posesses, intends to use etc, chemical or biological WsoMD ? No. <br><br>Personally I am against this war because of the pespectives for the whole region.
