I wasted a few minutes of my life looking through that web site. Their arguments against DRL's are weak and for the most part based on opinions (or so it would seem). Personally, while I don't particularly care to have DRL's on my truck, I could care less if other vehicles have them (my wife's Trailblazer has them). They don't bother me at all...and I don't see what the big deal is. ???

I wouldn't mind them so much if so many of them weren't blinding to oncoming drivers, even in daylight. And the other problem is that it seems like the people who have them often forget to turn on their real headlights at night, so there are a bunch of cars driving around with 50% of the light they should be throwing, which seems a bit dangerous.

We're getting off topic now....but oh well. I don't think I've ever seen any DRL's that I'd consider blinding. Most of the time (at least with GM vehicles) the DRL's are usually about half the brightness of the regular headlights. I used to have a Chevy S-10 with them....but I never had a problem turning them on at night because without turning the lights on I couldn't see my instrument panel. I guess there are those that don't ever look at their instrument panel though. :

Yep, we are off-topic. I think that even though they're not at full brightness, they're using the high beam, so the angle can still make it blinding. I imagine at night the people I see have their parking lights on to light the instrument panel, but don't actually turn on the headlights. Either that, or there are a lot of cars with seriously crappy headlights out there. :

The self centering turn signals. It seems that on my truck I have to make a large direction change to get my turn signals to center. None of my other vehicles have taken such a large direction change to center. Curious to know if anybody else has noticed this annoyance.

I don't like the fact that there are no head restraints on the rear seat, even though only two people have used that seat in 6 months.

I have the 4x4 and wished they would have supplied a ladder inorder to get into the bed - Ha, I'm a old fart and tote my own small ladder.

I like the GM stick thingy for cruise control much better than all those buttons which I have mastered - the stick is patented as I understand it and only used by GM?

I just love my six on the floor gear shift handle's insert spinning around - I am at about 90 degrees now. :

Love my trucky.

Only at 90 degrees? Yours is very slow. You have a problem and if I were you I would take it back to the dealer to have them speed it up before it leaves you stranded one day.

Could be worse. On my Ford, I can't get the signal to stay on if the wheel isn't dead center. Kind of the opposite problem. I have noticed that about my Dodge, though.

Crabjoe, I'll tell you, you have a bigger problem than the truck, that is she's wearing the pant's around your house. You better find a way to get them off her and on to you!
[/quote]

On My Honeymoon I took off my Navy Dress Blue Bell Bottems and tossed em to my Sweet Wife. I Said Put those on! She replied I cant wear those, I Said you are right and now we know who wears the pants in this Family!!!!. A Few Min later she went in the bathroom and out the door flew her Lace Panties. She Whispered Get in to those Sailor*** And I Replied I cant get in to those. She Said Your Right and you sure aint gonna till your Attitude changes Mister!!!! :'(

Oh and lastly, how about the ability to add an XM radio tuner to the factory system?

I like DRLs. I looked at the aforementioned website briefly, and I did agree with them, in that, it's now easier to miss non-equipped vehicles. I don't buy their ambient light arguement (that is that the US has more than countries that have adopted DRL). Last I checked, the most densely populated area of Canada (i.e. southern Ontario) lies closer to the equator than many states or parts of them. Also, as everyone knows, mid-summer daylight hours in my area are very long.

Frankly, I don't understand why many Americans are opposed to DRL's. We've had them in Canada since 1998 (I believe). As the years have passed, the percentage of vehicles on the road with them has increased so that most now have them.

When on an undivided highway, it is now easy to determine from a great distance whether the car on the horizon is coming toward you or travelling in the same direction. Why is that a bad thing??

Re:What I don't like about my Dodge

I have no objection to daylight driving lights, except that I would like the option of switching them off. I hate the automatic headlights because I have no control over them. When I enter a tunnel it takes too long for the headlamps to switch on. I want the headlights NOW, not 20 seconds later. Had a job not that long ago where it was necessary for me to daily drive on the apron of an airport. The rule was NO headlights and only park lights. I was driving a Canadian Buick at the time and could not switch off the DDL's or the headlights at night. The security guys hastled me daily. In spite of all this I do believe that the daytime running lights or daytime driving lights as some call them are a good thing safety wise.
