What can I do? (financial question)

so, i bought this harley motorcycle awhile back. thought i'd really enjoy it and all, which i do, just not as much as i thought i would. i'd just rather drive my pickup and save the hundred some dollars i pay a month for somehting i don't ride as much as i thought i would. basically i don't wanna pay the payment anymore, and i just wanna get out of this loan. how can i do that? can i give it back, do i try to sell it? so i need ya'lls advice...

Stick it in the classifieds here.

How far is "Plattsmouth, NE" from Utah?

that's what i figured is try and sell it, and phox, it is in the classifieds but i priced it too high, i need to lower it, i shot a little high though so i had room to play with.

and the problem here is that its a sportster, and they're a dime a dozen. heck i bought this bike brand new for $7300. told you i priced it too high! so why would someone want to buy a used one when they can get a new one for that price.

oh ya, and phox, it should only be a nice afternoon drive

My cousin did the same thing last year. He had aBuel that he put a mountain of miles on so he figured he would get a soft tail and be a litle more comfy on those miles. As soon as he did he all but stopped riding. He sat on it for abought 2 years and only put a litle over a thousand miles on it. Finaly he decided he would just get rid of it and save the payment money. Turns out that he owed enough on it to make it almost unsellable. He found a Harly dealer in Mason City, Ia that buys used bikes but they wouldent give him what he wanted for it so he took it home and sat on it some more. After going out and buying a brand new $9000 ATV he decided he would just take the hit and let them have the bike for what they ofered him. No one else even nibled on the thing. Harleys have become a dime a dozen in the last few years. Still expensive as all get out but way to plentifull so the used market is just saturated with them.

Couldent hurt, but ya gotta remember that they are not gona give ya near its value because they still have to turn around and sell it and make money on it. Thats what my cousin ran into but after a while he just gave in as no one else wanted it.

well how's that work then. lets take this scenerio here for example...

i call a dealer and ask if they would like to buy. they say yes but we'll only give you 6800. i say "ok" but then i still owe $1000, then what? do i just make payments on that last 1000, even though i don't have the bike?

ugh!, i'm too young to understand this evidently!

Nope you have to come up with the additional $1000.00 so you can pay it off and the dealer can get the Title... Probably have to take a personal loan out to pay the $1000.00

Or you can find someone to Take over payments for you and transfer the loan.. but that will take someone with acceptable credit and a visit with the 2 of you to the Credit company...

MIght try an add in K.C. paper. More people, bigger city, and you might find an interested party via the internet. Hey, try Ebay. I just sold a tractor for 24,000 and total selling cost was something like $300

It's the beginning of the summer and gas prices are high. I know HD's aren't gas mizers but not all wives know that. Put it up on Ebay for what you need to get out of it. You'll get bites. I know a guy that went to NC from here to get one sight unseen off ebay, of course now he wishes he'd seen it first, but there are deep pockets out there looking for HD's.

Is that a hypothetical?

Above you say you bought it new for $7300, now you owe $7800? Was the $7300 "out the door"....what is pay-off?
