Westerns (movies)

What does everyone recommend?

I have:
Tombstone
Lonesome Dove
Connagher
Quigley Down Under
Broken Range
Young Guns

Which other ones are worth buying?

Big Jake w/John Wayne, and Streets of Laredo even though the book is better.

Dang near anything with John Wayne, favs are True Grit, Rooster Cogburn, and the Cowboys. Or Clint Eastwood, Favs are The Outlaw Josey Wayles, Two Mules for Sister Sarah, and the Sergio Leonne Trilogy.

And Open Range was good.

Dang! Good list. Outlaw Josey Wales has to be one of the greatest westerns of all time. The Duke is good, most of Clint Eastwood's were pretty good. Tom Selleck has made some good ones lately. (Monte Walsh, etc.)

If you like the Spaghetti Western stuff Blazing Saddles was good as were the Trinity movies (Terrance Hill).

I must add THE LONGRIDERS, also RIDE WITH THE DEVIL.

Anything with Tom Selleck, Sam Eliot, Kris Kristoferson, Willie Nelson, Jonny Cash, I can go on all night.

A must see is BARBAROSA, also TRACKER, RIDERS OF THE PURPLE SAGE, BREAKS OF THE MISSOURI.

Anything with James Stewart.

Anything with Robert Duvall.

Also, Renee Zellwiger.

All the Clint Eastwood and John Wayne Western Movies are good too.

My Name is Nobody.

Kind of a surreal comedic western with strong stylistic cues taken from Sergio Leone.

Tombstone will always be my favorite, followed with both Young Guns....so my taste shows my age. However Big Jake, McClintlock, Outlaw Josey Wales, etc., etc. etc. I will stop everything to watch. Ever seen Johnson County Wars? Watch the movie then listen to Chris LeDoux for the rest of the day.
