Caught a bunch of nice rockfish (striped bass for you folks who don't know any better ). Had perfect weather, almost slick calm. Went out off the target ship off Smith Island, caught about 30 fish over 18". The biggest was 30". Couldn't ask for better conditions in November. Had a nice chum slick going, and were drifting live spot. The Navy came out at 10:30 and ran everyone off from the ship at least 2 miles, but never did see them shoot at it. A helicopter was messing around it for about 45 minutes before we left. Was hoping to see some cool shooting, but oh well.

Oh, the range boat that patrols out there. I called it the Torque Monster. That thing must have about a 80,000 HP diesel in there, you could hear it for miles, even idling. When he would put it in gear, you could almost feel our 46' workboat shake. That was from about a mile away. Everyone kept teasing me about my truck, and comparing the two. That is one bad boat. Looked about 100-110 feet long.

 

I had a few hours around lunchtime, I tried to puddle jump a few ducks at the public land near my house. Didn't see a single duck. Still had fun. And found a water hole VERY popular with the local deer Glad to hear one DTRer had some success...

 

Went hunting this morning.

Saw several nice deer and many doe on the way in. apparently that was where they stayed. on the way in. I didn't see anything the rest of the day.
