Weight Loss Question

Hi guys I have a different question for you, I figure with the knowledge depth on this board someone must have an idea. So on Dec. 1 I changed my lifestyle, always had healthy eating habits, just ate too much. So I got my portions under control to where that became habit, then on Jan. 1 started exercising. The results, 63 pounds to date, I've never felt better, now for my question. Obviously 63 pounds is alot, I've slimmed way down but now have this darn pouch/pot belly of, well for lack of a better word "extra" skin. What can I do to help with tightening it up (short of gaining 63 lbs )? Anyone?

Thanks, there is lots of info out there but so much of it is conflicting, I was hoping for some personal experience.

The only thing I know of to remove the loose skin is surgery.

Do everything to keep the skin well supplied with blood (like warm-cold-warm.-cold showering, lotions etc) and give it some time to try to get back on itself.
Depending on your genetic disposition it is possible that it works out itself, but it's not gonna do so quickly and it will need some help.
Training and massage will also stimulate the body and the skin around it

how old are you? if you are young you are lucky and it will slowly tighten up with time and more exercise, the older fellas who have that loose skin are not as likely to tighten up.

im pushing 350 myself and i need to drop a 100lbs or so, im working on it tho

I'm 29, went from 286 to 223. I guess I'll just keep working on it, after all it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle! Thanks gents.

I wish I had your problem. I have always been a big guy…never really been described as a fat guy, more of a “railroad tie.” I am about 6’1, 295. I would love to drop down to 250. Although I am not on a strict diet, my daily lifestyle is pretty much the normal for the lists you read to drop some weight (limit cokes, no sweets, etc). Normal day consists sometimes a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, 2 ham/cheese sandwich’s for lunch, and either cereal or another sandwich for dinner. I “splurge” about once a week and do a real meal at a restaurant and a steak/potato at home on a Sunday evening. I eat out for lunch about twice a week…Jasons Deli or subway. I have figured my average food calorie intake is between 1500-2500/day, with the occasional 3000 a day or two a month. I am a pretty active guy…construction, always outside working in the yard until dark, and I do a pushup/situp/lunge routine every other night. Then theres my weekend beer or crown/coke (maybe 3 C/C per week) drinking which is probably my problem. I just wouldn’t think that weekend beers would not allow me to lose any weight, especially with my diet. Furthermore, when I would grab a jumbo jack on the way home for dinner or do a pizza buffet once a week, I wasn’t any heavier. Who knows, I guess its my genes.

I lost 60 pounds 2 years ago, had a severe attack of diverticulitous, they took out 1/2 of my colon for it, and since then I've put most of it back on, and I cant keep/get rid of the weight. I can loose 5-8 ponds and overnight put it back on without changing my eating habits. I wish I could get rid of at least 25 pounds.

I hear ya Matthopp, I work shift work and on my 2 weeks off beer is my worst enemy. At camp it's super easy to be good, and stay on my routine but I do enjoy the odd brewsky at home!

That's what I was told, but it may be a liberal conspiracy.
