We Need Everyone's Prayers!!!

Yesterday evening we had a MASSIVE explosion at a fertilizer plant about 15 miles up the road. MASSIVE devastation all around in the small community of West, Texas. Several rescue workers are still un-accounted for. Some friends of ours live about a 1/2 mile as the crow flies from the fertilizer company and the blast/concussion severely damaged their home but it's still standing......MANY others are not so lucky this morning. Heading out there to assist our friends and try to collect some of what they have left.

Will keep ya'll posted. Later.

Thanks. As of right now 5-15 are un-accounted for.....most are rescue personnel!!! The blast was felt here at my house.....thought it was the storms rolling in but obviously that was not the case.

Back home now. Got there to help my friends and even THEY are not allowed to go to their home so I was turned away. It's awful there.....looks like a war zone!! I think the biggest concerns right now are anhydrous ammonia contamination.......The winds were so high last night when it all happened that most of it should have been dissipated.......but I'm no expert. Now the winds have changed to 30mph outta the north (vs. the south last night) and the rains have moved through and put the fires out. That was a blessing. Still waiting to hear from our friends about what they need as far as help is concerned......as of 3am they were fine but photos of their house sent to them from a neighbor showed a bad scene.

Thanks SLUG....our local news channels have had no outside programming since this all went down about 8 last night.....nothing but local footage of the destruction. Aerial daylight reels are being aired now......the blast made a direct beeline for my friends house. They live about a 1/2 mile from it and the blast knocked the sheetrock and insulation from the ceilings....knocked the windows out... blew the front door off...and blew the garage door into the garage. They still aren't allowed to go back and he is a former Haz-Mat trained firefighter from Ft. Hood. Bad news today.

I was seeing some news footage of the rest home near the plant.

It appears the ceilings came down and the wallboard was blown off.

Just devastating.

This has not been a good week or so. Reminds me of the Bible scripture that states "If my people who are called by name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and will heal their land." Our land is sick - - we have turned away from our heritage and I think God has turned His face from us to get our attention.

Wow, didn't mean to preach, but I am worried about our wonderful land and who we are as a people. We really need to hold each other up in prayer and support. Our prayers from this house are with you out there. Boston too. God help us.

Bob
