Are we...

Are we safe in our own homes anymore? I left my house and 9:15 to take my g.f home and when i get back at little after 10 the garage door was open! I asked my mom why she opened it and she said she didnt. She said she heard it open and was all alone in the house did wanna go see. Use to be a nice area what happened? Looks like its time to move back east. Luckily nothing was taken but they were prob just scoping out the place.

sounds like your garage got scoped out (cased) being that you live in a 'NICER" area, if you have nice stuff in there expect a return visit...

i'd do some booby trapping

i don't think even an alarm and gun is enough anymore..

i get more and more calls from people that want gates on there driveway and front, rear, side, basically all exterior doors. fancy? yes... functional? yes ...expensive? yes...stainless? yes... with fully reinforced frames? absolutely! and please hurry! is what i hear

seems to me people think it is going to get allot worse and fast

Get you an infrared deer camera and hide it in a place where it can easily snap incoming photos(for evidence) Then of course try to secure your valuables into hard to reach or inaccessible spots that would easily make noise if tampered with. Make sure you notify the police that there has been some suspicious activity in the neiborhood and they need to bump up their rounds.

I see...well guess you'll have to take matters into your own hands for prevention.

You did make sure the door closed behind you before you left the driveway right? I've made that mistake before.

House alarm, 3 dogs and a couple lead slingers in my home and Mama knows how to use them all.

Too bad you live so far away... I had some pit pups that would've loved to gaurd your territory.

If it was me I would immediately change the codes in the opener. For most openers it is a two minute job just changing the settings on the DIP switches. If you don't know how, check your owners manual. Don't forget to match the remote(s) with the opener.
