Bleary eyed and dragging hiney on this, what looks to be, a Monday from hades. Most of the glitches, like where do the troops report, have been worked out. REMF's!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never in the course of events has so many been completely fustrated by so few. I'm amazed at the vast amounts of knowledge being put out by those that never have or never will deploy much further that the box of donuts in the break room.
Actually the troops morale is good. The whining and crying has been replaced by the realization that they are in fact soldiers that have to do what has to be done. The rag bags aren't any more. First Shirts are doing their job and things are looking like they are supposed to. Except for the REMF's.
Got to run and get ready for the 0730 brief.(insert a dry heave barf pukey)

Y'know that really chaps my backside hearin about how these people can't / won't deploy due to "personal issues" or suddenly discovering their femanine side or whatever ...

Collecting that paycheck during peacetime drills wasn't too rough ... but now that it is time for the rubber to meet the road all of a sudden they're skeer'd.

Granted, war isn't the preferred scenario ... but you don't see guys like ShortRound or the others on this board runnin off with their tail between their legs.

Geez ... it only took reading SR's post to get me fired up this morning ... HE has to live the crap 24/7.

You don't have to worry about my tail between my leg, it got chewed off this morning. An 0-6 took it off to the roots. Only problem was even though the LAST name was right, the First wasn't. He was cool. Apologized in front of the staff and took me out to lunch. Me thinks he determined something was out of kilter when I started snickering, knowing full well it wasn't me, especially when he refered to me as Major Lipe. (AKA cuz). For chewing outs, I would have rated it an 11 on a scale of 10. Speaking of the cuz, I decided not to give him advance warning of his happening.
Things going good so far. No major issues other than how to get the train loaded, how to get them there, etc. Minor stuff.
AND the bisquits and gravy was real good this morning.
Outa here before they miss me.

Looks like another beautiful day shaping up in sunny So Cal. Clear skies, mid 80's, and if we're lucky, by tomorrow Gray Davis will be packing his desk up. Other than that, I can't say there is anything to look forward to, other than the circus known as the recall election will finally be over.

IMO, we Californians are equally screwed either way, so I really don't care. We're in the bowl, and the liberals have their collective hand on the lever. I'm just waiting for the flush so I know it's time to head back to Texas.

Day turned out OK ... I was heading home and stopped to look at a couple used boats and one tired old boat had a FREE BOAT, FREE TRAILER sign in the window. Hmmmm ... no phone #, no lock on the trailer ... noone looking ...

I will call the DMV in the morning and do a little research. Just need to find a motor and steering gear and I am set !!!
