water cooler, sept 11 - 17

Good morning all, I am taking this chance to wish all that lost loved ones four years ago on this date. It was a date that will be remebered in detail like the day that we stepped on the moon, the day Kennedy was shot, and the shuttle tragedies. I can remember where I was, who I was with, and the frantic hours trying to make phone calls to check on people and spread the word. I think I will try to make a few calls today to keep in touch with those that matter in my life for one never really knows when and if you will see/ speak to them again.
God Bless us everyone and our great nation on this horrifc anniversary.

Another day of work. Got pulled over to the inspection line going through the gate this morning. No problems with that, but the officer did point out the bright shiny nail residing in the front tire.

Any bets on whether it will hold till I get home tonight?

Be safe,

Ed

As if the memory wasn't strong enough now I can see the lights for the memorial at ground zero, right from my front porch. makes it feel o so close again. Thankfull that this day only has a few hours left and has been peacefull.

Edit: I can not see them quite this well but for those that haven't seen a good pic of them here : http://aku-aku.com/nyc/statue.jpg

Geez ... it got a little chillier here during my absence. I went from waking up to 80* to hiding under the covers at 50 something*. Oh well ... makes the coffee taste better.

First day back to work ... any bets on how much "stuff" the XO has waiting on me ??

Have a great day !!

Alright! Who was supposed to be on night shift and why did my eyes default open at 0330?

Oh well, since I'm up, I'll take the rest of the shift and get some work done. This was NOT the way I wanted to start the week. Can only hope that it improves from here.

Hope that yours starts better than mine.

You got me beat 12Valve, only been up since 5... and I STILL don't know why!

On the second pot now. Another hour and there should be fresh muffins here. 'Course the coffee'll be gone by then, so that means a 3rd pot!

HAVE A GREAT MONDAY!

chaikwa.

BTW, anyone heard from/seen Redleg lately?

Thanks, actually that is what is required to be removed in order to change a $6.00 (then chinese made) cam bearing.
Of course, it wouldn't be realistic to have it torn down that far and not put in a Hi-Perf cam, and adjustable pushrods, and better gaskets, and..............

Mondays still pull high vacuum.

Coffee's ready, Beast in the lot.
Last week's "egg under the throttle pedal" resulted in 17 measured MPG for all in town commuting. "Normal" driving results in 14-15mpg.
I guess it's worth it to slow down (under 2000 rpm), and avoid "jackrabbit" starts,
although it sooooo booooooooooooring to drive like that.

Can't wait to get my knees back in the breeze.

Y'all B safe,

9/11 will live with us until eternity. A little known fact is the area of the Pentagon that was hit was first opened September 11, 1941. This was brought out at the tour Saturday. My sister participated in the walk from the Pentagon to Arlington Cemetery.

Mornin' all,
Gonna be another nice day in North Texas (even if it is a Monday).
Was able to do some ATV riding on Saturday, maintenance in the garage yesterday, and take a walk. That is the most active weekend I've had since summer started. Finally starting to "cool" down (about 90 or so).

How is the patient Ed? Do you like the lift you have? Been looking at one for my dirtbike and ATV. Was wondering how stable the dirtbike would be on it, guess you just have to secure it properly.

Chaikwa,
Can you PM me some of that coffee, pleeeeeeeeease?

Have a good day ya'll,
~Rob

The patient is waiting on my local perf. shop to open up to see how many needed parts are in stock.
The bike lift is a BlackJack brand and I can jack up the bike, flip down the locks and leave it like that with no worries for as long as it takes to perform the repairs. Only trouble is the hydraulic 3 ton jack keeps leaking all the fliud out when it sits, even with no pressure on it.
I just refill it with the cheap out-of-date Mil-surplus ATF I have sitting around.

Good morning DTRonians! Back from my stay on the lake with Huey and his lovely bride, it was a gorgeous weekend to say the least. Huey hooked a monster Muskie that went straight for the bottom of the boat and then the safety of deep water.

We tried to work it back to the surface, but it eventually cut the 40 lb gorilla braid line above the steel leader. Oh well even missing a good fish like that is better than any day working

Huey said to tell you guys and gals Howdy!

Good morning all...

It's a nice cold Idaho morning here 35*F... I hope Diesel comes down soon because riding the GW in this is getting be like snowmobiling. Just without the snow.

The fire camp moved out of town! Yeah! That mean there will be more fuel for us locals again. But the fire is still burning but under control now. They reduce the crew considerable...

Well Rise and shine guys...
