Water cooler Feb 16-22nd
Re:Water cooler Feb 16-22nd
I'm playing it safe and staying home today. It's still snowing and nasty. No plows going by, no traffic at all. I might brave the weather to clear around the heat pump, but that's the only reason I'll leave the house.

Jean the Weather Wimp at 17*

No rain or snow. Gonna be in the upper 40's so might be able to get something done.
Got two new additions to the family. One of our pigmy goats had two yesterday. Looks like we're gonna have to bottle feed one. With all the blue sheep and penguins around, I'm surprised that these two are actually white.
Y'all be careful in the nasty weather. See ya later.
I've burned 4 tanks of gas in the snowblower since 0700 Sunday.
If the clown in the snowplow blocks my driveway again, I might have to switch from snowblower to Louisville Slugger.

'Nuther pic.
BTW the POS S-10 belongs to my Step-Son.
The "Toybox" is 110 feet from the back of the carport.
That's why I have a snowblower. ;D

Jeeze Ed,,,,,,,
Sure am glad you ordered the white fluffy stuff. The only thing left for us further south, was about 2-3" of sleet. :
I don't have to go into work until midnight tonight, so I'm hoping the roads won't be frozen over too bad by then. RATTLINRAM is sucking on the AC/IV right now so she'll be ready to go tonight. ;D
Joel,,,
The big fierce mean dog (19 year old Chee-Wa-Wa who is 99% deaf and 100% blind) would never have made a sound unless you had food that might have woke her up!
LuvinItInFloridaBob,,,
I just seen something on the National Geographic Channel concerning the theory that Florida was about to break off and float down to the South Pole!......
... Any truth to that?

StompingOnSouthEndOfBackyardEveryChanceIGetDennis ;D

The news is reporting that the Federal Gov't will be closed tomorrow :
(They have to tell us or we wouldn't notice
).
Still waiting to see if my work location (DOD) will be closed or not.
The Phone Co., (Like the Power Co.s), won't close for snow days.
They gave us a 1/2 day off in '82 when the Air Florida plane hit the 14th street bridge in a 12" ice/snowstorm. Took 5 1/2 hours to get home.(normal 45 min trip).
Weather supposed to warm (40's) up for the next few days.
Gonna take til June to get rid of this stuff.

Just went out and cleared the block of ice that is my truck. Surprised the soft tonneau didn't cave from the weight. Didn't go to work today, ain't going to class tomorrow morning, either. Got to go get the wife from the airport tonight - she's missed this mess by going to LA to see her soon-not-to-be-among-the-living brother-in-law. Bad deal all the way around - now I got to brave the black ice to pick her up at midnight. Y'all wish me luck.

Don't rams know how to swim? ??? ??? After paying all that money for that thing, that sucker better swim real well.

Come to think about it - - the Gulf stream flows north. I will hook up to the fiver and just float back north - - but, Lordy, not too far north please - - I didn't get the engine heater.

RefugeeBob, If you make it far enough North on the Gulf Stream you can say hello to the penguins.

Doobie, doobie.....

I can see Bob now - truck on top of fiver, outboards attached to fiver bumper. Would have to have dual outboards so he could steer with them - unless the fiver came with the optional rudder package. TharsheblowsBob.

Mornin Folks,,,,
Nothing like traveling the black ice highways to come in here and work the graveyard shift! :
However, the roads weren't too bad. I just took my time and used a little common sense, (unlike the three vehicles I went by on I-295, one against the guardrail, another one about 100 yards down the road with the rearend smashed into the jerseywall and another one about 300 yards further down the road in the median strip facing my direction. Police and Fire on scene, so I didn't stop. All three of them were 4x4s. Some folks just don't get it,,,, 4 wheel drive dosen't do much on ICE.)
Everyone be safe today on the roads if they're nasty. ;D
