Late getting going this morning,,,,,, just as well because this is my friday!
I'll have the 5er hooked up and ready to pull out in the morning to head down to the dyno and drags in NC. As long as I can make the trip while listening to the DVD playing movies for JD (the 3yr old granbaby),,,,,,, and not end up singing Barney tunes all weekend,,,,,,,,, it should be a lot of fun! (What am I thinking?,,,,,,,, I sing the Barney songs all the time anyways!

Got the oil changed today.
While I was at the Dealer, figured I'd try to get the cold weather ide enabled again (and again).
Took the copy of the TSB with me, showed the service writer what the guy had to do.
Highlighted all the important parts for them, underlined the "DRB will indicate if the feature is enabled or disabled, Push 1 to enable, 2 to disable"
They wanted to charge me 85 bucks to do it.
I said nuh-uh. Right here it says it's a .5 hour job.
Not to mention it also says "reimbursable under provisions of the warranty", he said nope to that as well.
I said "but the engine warranty is 100,000 miles"
He said "we aren't working on the engine, the DRB plug is inside the cab".
Tried to convince him that the cold weather idle would prevent a $5,000 engine replacement down the road, but he wouldn't go for it.
I told him to ask all the service guys, and find one that had done it before, and knew what they were doing (they wouldn't let me do it, or stand over the guy doing it)
Then find me to confirm the guy knows how to do it before you start.
After they were done the service writer found me, confirmed the steps the tech went through,
and it sounds like they finally got it right.
I'll leave it unplugged tonight and give it a whirl tomorrow morning, fingers crossed.
Changed the fuel filter myself when I got home.
Slicker than snot, just like last time.
Bumped the starter with the filter cap slightly open, got it tightened down before Diesel sprayed everywhere.
Fired right up on the first crank, like it does every other time.
Now gotta take a nap so I'm nice and refreshed for the company Christmas party tonight.

Man, it's Saturday - - again. Where went the rest of the week??? Another week older and I didn't even see it go by. Really cold spell hit us in Florida. Cloudy and a high of 72. Wow, might have to take off the shorts here pretty quick. Waxed the Ghost - - sure looks pretty. The tecks wanted to know if I ever drive it off the pavement or on a wet street. Also, how do I keep the engine polished like that. They must see some pretty sorry sights under the hood.
Have a great day.
