Well, it's 5:30am and it's already hot and humid. Just perfect since my A/C is making a hideous noise when the compressor kicks on. It's so bad that I turned it off last night. Now I have to call and try to get someone out here to fix or replace it ASAP. We all know how that works in the middle of summer... I'll be waiting a couple of days I'm sure!! Good day everyone.......

Triple H forecast again today. (Hazy-Hot-Humid)

G-G getting a rest today, had to drop the Floor sander off at the rental place this morning.

3 hours sleep due to nasty aroma from the Polyurethane floor finish.

Recharged the A/C in the Beast two weeks ago, hit the A/C on the way to work this morning, got so chilly I had to turn the thermostat down.
Seems to be holding a charge again..........

Lots to do.....no energy, and even less ambition.

Thinking about changing my Office voice-mail greeting to :
"At the tone Please state your Emergency in 20 words or less, including the reason that I should put your emergency ahead of the other 10 emergencies that I'm current handling..........."

Y'all B safe,

Triple H day again.
Beast in the lot.
Playing locksmith this morning so my coworker can get in his office. (lockset hosed)
Finally getting started on cup-o-coffee number 2.

Rumor mill yesterday indicating that The Prez might make Friday an official Govt' holiday to give them a Looooong weekend.
......And give me a one day reprieve from the constant DWI around here.
That "Here's Your Sign" comedian could make a career out of this place.

Good morning DTRonians finishing up some chores around the Ponderosa so I can go spend a few days on the boat.

I went into Huey's office to see how he was doing today and found him asleep in his chair with the remnants of a pink sprinklies donut on his shirt. I didn't wake him as he has a tendency to draw his weapon anytime he thinks someone is messing with his donuts

Everybody have a safe one!

Issues at the homefront ...

Oldest boy (17) had a buddy bring him some firecrackers at school and while on the bus that same buddy decided to light one. My son instinctively grabbed it and tossed it out the window (thinking he was doing the right thing). He got kicked out of summer school for the way it "appeared" on the school bus video. The other kid wasn't man enough to step up and take the blame.

When the wife got the call from the school, she was obviously irritated with the son and told the school to sign him out and tell him that he just earned a long walk home (7+ miles). She started thinking that maybe she had been a little harsh and that she would at least find him and bring him a bottle of water for the walk home ... when she left the house, she ran over my youngest boys 2 month old kitten. So, now everyone was mad, sad, confused and irritated and wanted to talk to dad ... at midnight, again at 2 am ... 3 am.

Where's the coffee pot this morning ???

WHEW!!!! thank goodness I'm back at work.

Got home yesterday and painted another bedroom.
'Bout 1830hrs I was on the computer spell-checking a letter I wrote to my congressman about the ridiculous price of diesel fuel, when I saw a flash , heard thunder and the power went out.
Got up to tell Wifey I was heading to the garage to fire up the generator (Thanks Jack, it came in VERY handy) when I saw water on the basement floor.
The basement outside stairwell drain couldn't handle the deluge of rain that was falling at the time.Water was coming in very quickly, and about 1/4 of the basement was starting to resemble a wading pool.
Fired up the generator, tossed the 4-way extension cord in the basement grabbed the shop-vac and the halogen light, and spent the next 45 minutes trying to stay ahead of the incoming flood.
Rain finally quit, got the rest of the water sucked up, most of the moisture out of the carpet, and sat down to eat the (now cold) sandwich that my daughter had gone to pick up while I was typing the letter.
Power was restored as I was dumping the last of the water out of the Vac.

What a night.........

Hope today is better..

Ya'll B safe,
Ed

Mornin' all.
Ed and PW, sure hope today is better for you guys.
Got back from Cockeysville/Baltimore last night. Funny thing happened while I was there. Water drops fell from the sky. I believe the locals called it "rain". I might try to describe it to someone down here and see if they have heard of it.
Next week, I get to go to Huntsville Ala. Haven't traveled in 3 years and now back to back trips. Oh well, I get to rack up the frequent flyer miles and use them for personal trips

Have a good one,
~toodryinTexasRob

OH so THAT's why we got all that nasty weather yesterday........

Better warn the folks in Alabama to expect a hurricane if you're heading their way next.

Day off today. Gonna be a warm one here again, no rain in sight (into our 4th straight week with no rain here). Will be heading out later to pick up the girlfriend's son and make a day of it.

Idaho is finally drying out... You guys back east can have what we had for a bit. Sorry guys...

Nice bright clear sky to start my morning. I get to fire up the Diesel and haul trash in until the local dumpsters are just about full. With all the rain the grass, weed, and brush have been growing like wild fire. Now I got to remove it all before we have a wildfire! Rather safe than sorry...

Rob, you driving or flying to Huntsville? If driving, stop in here and visit. Got a bunch of Raytheon and CCWS folks roaming the grounds. Besides, on Wednesday, the stuff that was placed on the smoker Tuesday will be ready to eat.

Cool, a hurricane party!! I like the idea.
Sounds like I got outta Dodge just in time yesterday. Didn't have but a few sprinkles before I left BWI at 4:00 pm.
