Howdy, guys and gals,
Warm day in Florida - - somewhat different than Colorado last week. Flowers out and great day - - good coffee - - life is good.

Redleg,
Have you ever canned any of that salmon you catch? My friend says that is the way I should go. Any comments. Getting anxious to get up that way and catch some of those critters.

Happy Thursday.
Welcome to TDAAI3 (The Day After American Idol 3)
Whatta relief! Hope Wifey can find something slightly more intelligent to waste time on now. reruns of Captain Kangaroo would be a huge step up

Enjoying my Friday before a looong weekend.

I'll be spending the Memorial Day weekend the same way as every other year.
Hanging out with all the vets in town for Rolling Thunder.

Good Morning DTR onians!

Pretty morning here after a night of spectacular thunder boomer's, the clear air is crisp and I wish I were on the water this very moment.

Thought I finally had the boat ready to take to the marina, hooked water up to her and fired off the engine after blowing out the fogging oil , and putting in new spark plugs.

Engine runs like new but the durn low oil/ temperature horn won't shut up I trouble shot it between downpours and both the oil sensor and temperature sensor show no continuity, so looks like the module itself is shot

Cant get one for at least a week, and since I am dropping it in the water Saturday, looks like I have to disconnect it for now. No way to replace this on the water, so that means I will have to drag the trailer back later and pull it out of the water.

Things like this never come up unless you are planning a big weekend

Thank you Mr Murphy!

Would I be out of place if I said "that really blows"?
Actually, I thought that with all the trouble you've had, a bit of humor might help. Hope you get it fixed soon.

Evening all,
Whew ... sure was a warm one today. Summer is comin on with a vengeance.

The other day, I was a Sidebuoy at a retirement for a 30 year Seabee Senior Chief. This crusty old wardog had more time in one combat zone or another than most of us have in the Navy. Definately an old school sailor. He never minced words when something was on his mind ... even when it was an admiral asking the question. Often times, his CO would turn 3 shades of red but they knew he was right and would stand by his word and his troops.

Lord help you if you were a dumb junior officer or a screwed up constructionman recruit ... he was well skilled in the art of chewing **** up and down the chain of command !!!

And wouldn't you know it ... he is soon to be marrying the command chaplain (she retired the day after he did)

Sorry to hear that Huey,
I got real lucky a few years ago because we got a bad hail storm right after I had purchased a $500 double-wide carport. It has saved my truck and the wife's car from damage more than once. Our daughter was not so lucky and the hail did about $1800 damage to her car during that same storm. Hope ya can get it fixed,
Can we expect to see a new cowl or scooped hood in the future now?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Think Positive!

Know what you me by a bad day.
Headed into work this morning with a load of 2x8x16ft oak (about 6000 lbs), raining and was slowing down due to the conditions. Some clown late for work came up in the middle lane and cut in front of me. Trailer got to acting stupid and in turn, made the truck do the same. Good old jacknife. Rear bumper, left rear quarter panel all the way to the wheel well, front bumper, one fender, a set of lights, maybe the grill. Don't think the radiator and stuff with it was hurt. Too dark to tell. Spit bottle all over the floor (trying for a bit of humor). Had to change out my BVD's and remove a stain in the seat.
Heck of a way to start the weekend.

Huey: that's bad news, I hope that your insurance will cover the damage.

Shortround: Man, that's awful!! The worst part is that the guy who caused it is probably oblivious to the havok that he caused.
A few years ago, I was rearended while stopped at a red light by a young coastie stationed here in Traverse City. He hit me hard enough to push me into the brand new SUV in front of me waiting at the light. The worst part for the coastie was that the guy in the brand new SUV was his new base commander who'd just moved here. I think that coastie is still stationed in Greenland.

2x8x16 oak. That's pretty healthy stock for oak. Is is red oak?
