I can't see the pics or go to the ad, but is this for a yellow Rubicon?
This is similar to another Ebay scam for 4 wheelers. Buddy of mine is looking for a new one and came across an '05 modded Grizzly for $2500 supposedly in Rockaway, about 20 minutes west of me. He called the seller and the seller told him, "Oh, I just moved to the UK, but if you wire the money to me, I will ship the quad to you." I told my friend that this is a scam and to stay away from it. To ship the quad alone would cost over $1000. My friend didn't send any money, but to this day he still believes that there really was a quad for sale and it was selling for $2500. Who in their right mind would sell a $7000 + quad with mods for $2500?

A sale is made when the "fear of loss" is equal to, or greater than the "greed of gain".
Until e-Bay gets a handle on identify theft you have little assurance that the auction is real.
Cavet Emptor.......... Let the Buyer Beware.

As foolish as I feel for this post the same thing happened to me when I was in Iraq. I found this good deal on ebay for a '04 CTD 4x4. Well that seet deal went about the same way as described in the first post. I did the same thing wired the money. It was a $6500 mistake I made not proud of it but I have learned a little bit from it. I did get emails from the FBI (my sister was in contact with them about it) but have heard nothing from it and its been a little over a year now.

Wow, i'm sure they will catch him. If they talked on the phone the number has to be tracked some way. My GF had checks stolen and some edit wrote one for $800. ****** me off. If this happened to me and I caught the person honestly I think I may not be able to control my emotions and it would be bad. Tell your buddy to keep on the FBI to get this resolved.

Well my buddy sent this guy an email through ebay using his dads account ( trying to sound extremely interested ) hoping that he would write back and they could get a phone conversation going and track him. But since the Jeep was yanked off Ebay again he hasn't heard from the guy.
I've bought a few items off ebay but the most I ever spent was like $200 bucks. I would never give money to ANYBODY for a car without seeing it in person. Hopefully he can find this guy somehow and at least get him put behind bars..........that right there would be enough justice for him.

My dad actually bought his car (00 Z28) off of E-bay. Got one heck of a deal, just had to go to Cali to pick it up. Got a plane ticket and cash, when the guy handed him the keys he handed him the cash. Love that car!
