From my chair that is. My 11 month old son figured out how to climb up into my chair and take my spot. He climbed up the magazine rack and then onto the end table then over the arm into the chair. Looks like I have competion now for my new Lazy Boy and remote authority.

Man, I love beeing a dad. No one could have convinsed me it would be this great.

That picture is funny. I have to fight with my wife, 2 sons, dog and the 2 stupid cats for my chair. I'll share it with my boys, the wife and the dog though. The cats get the boot. I've got a feeling my boys are going to be bigger than I am though. Looks like I'll have to start fighting dirty.

Wait untill he brings your truck home the first time solo.

"UUmm, dad, uumm... the trailer hitch got bent on your truck.......but it really was an accident and it's not bent much".

"I see, so explain to me about this...uh 'accident'"

"Well Jason was at the picnic with his dad's new Duramax and John had his dad's new PowerStroke. Then Bob, you know our quarterback showed up with his dad's old 12 valve. We we were just sitting around and one of the girls asked whose truck was better. So John says he could pull any Dodge around the block. Well I said I got the strap and $5 bucks says you can't. I heard you say that over at the auction one day too, remember??. So we hooked them up and I dragged him all over the parking lot. We did put our letter jackets over the strap just in case."

"Ok, so then what??"

"Well Jason says ya need a man's truck to do a man's job and went and got the Duramax. Well after we hooked then up I just planted the brakes and built a little boost while I waited for John to start spinning. Then I just dragged him right out to the street."

"yeah well, now pray tell, how did the hitch get bent.??"

"Well you know that big old rock down by the flag pole?? You are always telling me and everyone else how great the Cummins is so I says to the gang ' I could pull that rock right out of the ground.' So we hooked it up and I gave it a boosted launch with a couple feet of slack in the strap. It kinda moved the truck sideways but it sure enough pulled that rock out of the ground. But when it yanked the truck sideways it kinda bent the hitch a little. It's barely bent, you can't really even see it."

"All right lets go see."

"UUhh, where is the hitch.???"

"Well see it kinda got pulled loose from the frame a little bit and was hanging on the ground so we just unbolted it and put it in the bed.""

Looking at the hitch that is nearly bent in half laying in the bed of the truck, "Son, how fat is your wallet?? measured in dollar bills??"

Son is looking at you like a whipped dog with his tail between his legs.

You are so proud of him that you finally grab him and give him a big hug and start laughing uncontrollably.

Great pictures and stories. My son is 5 and loves to work in the garage with me. Problem is I'm too worried about his safety. If the trucks on jack stands I won't let him out. If I'm working on the fuel system I won't let him out. I need to get over my fear but he's just... well my little man and I want him around forever. I want to teach him everything I know (could be a short weekend) but until he's a little older I'm keeping him away from danger. Now I think age 7 in my head and then it's game on for him.

I remember when I was little helping my dad on an old Caprice Classic station wagon, my job was to try to turn over the engine from the harmonic balancer to TDC. He put a 2x12 over the engine bay, laid me on the board and said to pull with everything I had on the wrench. I don't remember if I helped or not but that is a memory that I will never forget.
