Yes very unfortunate but was confirming that he was not one of the seven.
Hope that came out right but don’t know of any other way of putting it. Wish that no one had died.

Hey, my DTR family...

I really appreciate your concern, it blew me away with the calls/e-mails/FB posts, etc.

I'm am fine, but my brothers are not.

Remember, tho, we defend America's freedom, and sometimes it costs lives, even in training. What better way to die than for your Country?

It was refreshing to feel the patriotism that America has today. I welcome the calls and such.

Thank you for being AMERICANS!

Mark

The thanks go to you Mark. You are a Marine that protects our way of life and the safety and security of our families and our country. But more importantly, you are a friend. And when a friend is in danger or trouble, we are all concerned for your welfare and safety. It goes without saying that you are ready to give your life for your country and we accept that, but it doesn't make it any easier for anyone who considers you a friend when we hear news like we did today.

I'm glad you weren't directly involved in today's incident and at the same time offer my condolences for the loss of your brother Marines. I hope all of you in the Corps can take solace in that they passed in one of the most honorable ways possible, in service to their country.

God likes to surround himself with young Marines, they make Heaven a nicer place and I have no doubt they get to kick the Jihad maniacs down the exit ramp at the pearly gates
