tryin to make some more power out of a ol dodge, help needed

i have a 1989 dodge d100 3.9l v6 5spd. It is rated at 125hp and 195tq. i would like to up those numbers a bit. Exhuast, air intake, what else can i do that is affordible and where can i get it?

Swap out the motor for a 318 .... decent power and not as thirsty as the 360. Or if you really want to make things interesting ... go for a 440 !!

As you can see ... I don't recommend pouring much into the six banger.

Yeah, theres no replacement for displacement, and the 3.9 is about as far from a powerhouse as you could get in a full size (well except for the early 80's slant six.) There isn't much out there for them anyway and any power increase will be neglegible.
