Don't know too much about them, but I understaand that I-6 is a great engine...my personal feeling is the larger model looks rather awkward, sort of too tall for it's width. but the standard model looks quite nice and they likley are not too expensive used. Good luck!

My grandmother had an 02 model with the inline 6. It had good power, got about 22mpg freeway (it was 4wd). I put more miles on it than she did. Three years old and only had about 20k on it, most of it from me driving from OH to VA. It was a nice truck for a GM though. Definately a step above the old s10blazers.

My g/f is on her second Trailblazer, the first was an '05 and now she has an '08. They are great trucks in my opinion. Super comfortable for us bigger guys (I am 6'4, 245lbs), are good on gas, reliable. She has the regular truck, not the extended version, which I agree looks kind of goofy.

I bought my wife one with 60K on it ('03) and it proved to be an excellent truck. The only problem I had was a window regulator went out but I think that was kids fault by messing with the button too much. We pulled our 17' ski boat with and it had great power. I could get 21mpg out of it but for some reason my wife could only see 16mpg.

Nice cars, not quite as nice as the Envoy, but also not near as expensive. I have a friend who owns one and she is very happy with it. I also work with another guy who has one, he is happy with his, however he did have some expensive repairs to the transfer case, multiple times. Back seat is a little tight for adults on long trips, but not unbearable... if it is a good deal, I say go for it - do research on what they should go for - get a VIN check, there are plenty people on here who can do it for you. Have it checked by a trusted mechanic, if all looks good, enjoy the new ride.

a friend of mine bought an 06 trailblazer, he's got over 70K on it already, no problems or issues to speak of.
A good solid vehicle, they ride nice, have a comfortable riding position, etc.
Good luck!

My wife has an 04 with around 60,000 miles on it. We bought it this past july used but so far it has been flawless. We got the ext and love it. More room to haul stuff on trips and a 3rd row that suprisingly can fit 2 adaults comfortably for shorter trips. I wouldent want to sit back there for a long time but kids can fit real easy. I would not even consider getting one with out the EXT option. The non EXT versions may look a little nicer but the back seat suffers for the lack of the EXT. My grandparents have the Buick version that is the equivalent of the non EXT and the back doores are smaller and harder to get threw than ours and the back seat is smaller(less legroom) than ours. She gets abought 16 mpg mostly running around town and when I drive it on long hioghway trips it gets 20-22mpg. The inline 6 has suficent power, not excesive but not enimic either. It is no road racer but it is not suposed to be. She loves the automatic 4wd when its snowy/icy. Overall its a great ride.
