Trailer Stole!
Hey guys I know it probably isn't right to post in this forum but most people are on this part and its probably the best. My 16 ft. cargo trailer was stolen last night. Took it right out of my driveway. I have it loaded with all my hunting things including my arctic cat prowler. It has alot of stickers on the outside. The biggest one is a DSD chrome sticker on both sides. Please if you see it contact the police. They should be looking as well. Here in central Oklahoma.
Sorry to hear about your loss. No one appreciates the hard work you put in to earn your toys & tools.
BTW...Trailers are the easiest to re-vin. ok, this was years ago in AZ...Just go to the nearest DMV and claim it as home built. They do a cursory search for a vin, then give you a new tag & plates.
I keep my flatbed behind the gate at the house, just for that reason.

The part that really sucks is, non-commercial trailers in OK aren't tagged so the trailer can be hauled off and unless the BG gets nervous and stupid, the cops wont know the difference unless they bother running a vin number on the trailer.
Also gives them a chance to file for a new vin number as a new built trailer and sell it.

Thanks guys. I know the oklahoma thing sucks. Not putting a license plate on it is dumb in my opinion. But hopefully it will turn up! And it really sucks that these thieves don't appreciate things. We work hard for our trucks and and toys, and these people take advantage of it and get things the easy way because they are to lazy to get a job and work.

Do you have pics?
(I know it will not be around my corner soon, but it could help the fine DTRonians to see it- and do you have the serial numbers of the stuff on the trailer? - Could be good info for a LEO)
I hope that you get it back..

Sorry about your bad luck.... lots of people round here have those problems. Neighbor lost one out of his BACK YARD, small trailer that could be hand drug, but still. Did you have any kind of locks on it to at least slow em down? If you did what did you use cause I want to use something else? Hope you insurance was paid up, + will it cover the contents of the trailer, that would stink to get 4k for a 6k trailer and NOT get paid for the stuff that was in it when stolen.

It had side door locks, a lock on the back drop door, and a lock in the coupler up front. I have know Idea how they managed to get the front on off except with a torch. The contents are going to be covered except for the arctic cat prowler that was inside. So im still 10k in the hole.
watch craigslist and ebay carefully. a while back on a MN fishing forum, somones truck was stolen, and shortly after, a member of the forum spotted it on craigslist. the cops showed up on the thieves doorstep and everything was recovered.
Man, I hate hearing this. Same thing happened to me back in 2001. They got my trailer and a ton of equipment. It was never found.
I lock my trailer in the shop now. I lived in Ok back in the late 90's. Back then, you put your SS # on the trailer. That was crazy, IMO.
