tractor tires

I was mowing in the pasture over the weekend and ruined a front tire .Does anyone know of any discount places to buy a new one. The best price I’ve found local is $140.00 8ply with a tube.
The size is 9.5LX15 I need at least a 6ply (that is what’s on it now) but 8 would be better.
The price does not seem all that bad but I never really trust tire shops.

Not sure if you are in the country, but when mine let loose I went to the local Co-op, the tire was a little more but they installed it for free here at the house. I didn't even have to take the rim off the tractor. They told me to just leave the tractor in the field. Might be an option for you, and it kept my money local.

Right now it looks like the local shop gets my money.
Called TSC and they wanted $139.00 without a tube or mounting.

Nothing wrong with checking them out. The other good thing is you can deal with them directly if something goes wrong. You can also suggest or warn of their business practices to friends and family in the community. Glad to hear you got things figured out though, man I HATE flat tires!!!

I replaced tire on my tractor, ruin the tube when I putting the tire on the rim.
I installed a valve stem in the rim and made it a tubeless, the tire does not say tubeless, but it has been holding up since March

I’m thinking about doing the same thing and adding “green slime” in large amounts.

Love that stuff. Personally I think it should be added to WD-40 and Duct tape for the two things that will fix anything...

Not sure if you want to do this on a farm tractor, but we filled all our Bobcat tires with a rubber solution that solidifies into solid rubber essentially making the tire a solid rubber tire impervious to flats. It cost us $150.00 per tire but saved a ton of head aches. You have to sawzall the tire off when it is time to change it. I had a front left tire on my Kubota constantly going flat, I used bead sealer on the bead and have not had a issue since.

Good luck

Been there and done that. That foam is some good stuff.

If I were going to keep this tractor long term I would do it again. I filled both fronts on the last tractor I had. My goal is to keep this tractor for 1 or 2 more years then trade for a newer model when my truck pays off.

Unrelated did you not have some relatives in Cleburne ?

The last time you where down and called I was busy as a one legged man in a butt kicking contest, hay season was upon me. But I am hiring my hay cut now. It’s nice to sit and watch someone else work and cuss. Please the next time you are coming down give me a notice and we will see if we can have you out for a cold one under the shade trees.

Sounds great, Thank You. Not sure when I will be heading out there, but I know that I will be heading out there. I will call.
