Toggle Switch Question

If a SPST toggle switch says it is rated for 20Amps at 125VAC, how many amps will it carry at 12VDC??

I know that Watts = Amps times Volts----I think.

Straighten out my thinking on that, please.

Also, how about a SPST toggle rated at 3Amps at 125VAC; how many amps will it carry at 12VDC??

Thanks.

The amps are pretty much just that "AMPS" The voltage rating is the insulation rating of the switch, that is 125 / 250.
Hope it helps Bob H

Not sure what you are trying to wire up, but my personel rule of thumb is, if I'm adding anything that draws 10 amps or more continueous than it gets a relay.
Good luck.
