Early-style KSB toggle switch ?

So here's the situation: With all the timing advance I'm running, the added advance of the KSB is just too much. When the engine is loaded down, there's enough heat to keep the KSB from cycling, but in town, with the colder weather, it's constantly coming on and off, and when it's on, the old gal would make a 24v blush With the later style, I could just put a switch in-line and turn it off once the truck comes up to temp, but since the old-style works in reverse, I'm kinda stuck. I could wire a switch that hits the KSB with 12v, but then wouldn't that current backfeed through the factory KSB wire? Maybe a diode in the factory line? Would it matter at all? I'm open to suggestion...but I'm NOT pulling my timing back for the winter

Greg, it won't matter, the factory KSB switch won't care. It'll be fine as long as you don't accidently ground one of your additional wires.

I put two paper sacks in front of the radiator in the morning, then take one of them out if it get's warm in the afternoon. This will keep your temps up a bit and give at least SOME cab heat.

I drop 1,800 ft in about 15 minutes every morning so I don't get any warmup unless I block the radiator off.

I've got a nice winter front, but it doesn't make much difference. If I close the flaps, it seems like the BHAF gets more cool air, resulting in cooler intake temps I like the power the timing gives, so I guess I'll just have to wire up a switch to keep that dang KSB in check once things get warm
