Time to meet some DTR members.
As promised I am letting all of you know when I am heading north again.
I will be driving my truck up to Dallas next week and passing thru Laredo, San Antonio and Austin. If there are any DTR members along the way that want to meet me, now is your chance. Let me know when and how to touch base with you as I pass thru. I will not have a lot of time going up but will have a little more time coming back.
I will be in Laredo late afternoon on Feb 24 where I will probably spend the night. Will have my wife with me and maybe even another lady. Have to be in Dallas the evening of Feb 25th and will have time late afternoon and evening.
Expect to conclude my business in Dallas by late morning of the 26th and then start heading south again. It is on the trip south that I will have more time if necessary.
While in Laredo I need to renew the Texas tag on my truck which has just expired. How much will this cost and do they take credit cards? Also if it is not a big problem I need to change my plate for another number. Can anyone from that area tell me how to do this and where to go?
For those who are curious as to why I need to change the plate number, there is a good reason. Mexico City where I sometimes drive has a very strict system to limit traffic. They go by the last digit on the plate. The last digit dictates what day you can drive there. My present plate does not allow me to drive in Mexico City on a Friday and I need to change it to allow me to drive there Friday thru Monday.
After I cross the border i will have a cell phone with me that should work anywhere in the area I am travelling in. The phone number is 210-748-7275.

Stan:
My registriation renewal just came in the mail this weekend -
$59.30. Don't forget your proof of insurance - you will need that for the registration.
Gunracer1 and I both work at the same place located on I-30 and SH360 in Arlington - midway between Dallas and Fort Worth. Give us a call and I will buy lunch. Cell (817) 917-7201. Office (817) 436-7360. Look forward to meeting you.

You could stop and change a poopie diaper if you so desire. I've got plenty of peanut butter and jelly for sandwiches and lots of mac-n-cheese. Milk or apple juice usually washes it all down. Swing on by. It'll be a hoot!
Watch out for the two year old. She will hide your keys and make you search in vain for hours. Ask me how I know....
Be extra careful on I-35. It is a bear. Try to avoid Austin around rush hours. Traffic there is worse than any city in Texas!

Give me a call when you get into town . I'll try to break loose and meet you . Maybe we could all meet in one place ? what area of Dallas will you be in. I work just south of Dallas and its easy to get into town or even Arlington.

I just got a PM from Mexstan and here's the deal.
He will be staying in the West Dallas area, probably along Stemmons Frwy. Since there are several resturants in that area, how about getting together the early evening of the 26th? That area is accessable via major highways and should be fairly easy to get to after rush hour traffic has cleared.
This is a good oppertunity to put faces with names (and trucks), and would sure like to see a little participation.
My email is a secret, but I can be reached at chasr11@netzero.net.

I feel a little discrimination here. Florida is not that far out of the way.

OK you Floridarians, if you are not that far away, why don't you take a little drive and join us? So Bob, stop pouting and bring the rest of them with you.
This is looking better and better. It would be great to meet with the guys from the Dallas area and then as I go south, meet with the guys from the San Antonio area.
I will be leaving home at 5 AM Tuesday morning but can maybe find an internet cafe once I am in the Dallas area and find out the latest. Or one of you can call me on my cell and fill me in on the morning of the 26th.
Any place to meet is fine with me. Even Denny's if there is not too big a crowd. I don't drink so that makes it even easier, but some of you may wish to imbibe a bit, and that is OK also.

Minor change in plans. I will be staying in Plano for the nights of Feb 25 and 26. Leave Plano early for a Feb 27 early meeting at the Ramada on Market Center Blvd in Dallas. I am guessing that by 10 AM that I will be heading south towards San Antonio. Don't know where I will be staying in the SA area yet and may only decide once I get there.
Not sure if I am staying one or two nights in the SA area. Will be going back to warm Mexico early on Feb 29 latest. Have a 7 AM meeting on Monday in Queretaro that I can't miss.
Anybody have any idea how much time I need to allow from Plano to the Ramada in Dallas?

It depends on the time of day. Rush hour..it will take a while. After 8:30, it's not too bad.
Plano is only about 5 miles from me. I think that's where Hoss lives. I have the cell number you posted, and will call you sometime late afternoon on the 25th.
Come on guy's...this is chance to put a face on Mexstan.
