Tig welder

I have a Hobart porta tig thats been sitting in my garage for a while. Its brand new, doesnt even have a plug on it. I got it from a friend that was moving. This is what sucks about it, its not 220, its 440. Anyone know how to make this work? Anyone know what its worth? Ive tried looking them up, and havn't found anything. Any help would be appreciated.

Phase converters are available, I don't know if they'll handle a welder.

Phase converters are horribly inefficient (at least the one at our shop) it is a 7.5HP motor that runs full blast just to the welder we have.
Yes, a welder can be run on a phase changer, but it is not ideal. Obviously, running it straight 3 phase would be great, most people don't have it available unless they live in an industrial park or something.

I would try to unload it and us the money to get a more reasonable 220V stick/high freq. unit.

You can hook the torch to any DC welder but you have to use straight polarity.
