Re:texas drug problem

My son called me from school the other day, begging me to bring him an Advil for his splitting headache.

The school couldn't even give him an asprin due to the no drug policy.

I agree, the schools need to crack down on drugs, but inhalers and asprin?

That's just stupid. The whole "Zero Tolerance" thing is completely out of control. School administrators allow these policies to substitute for any real thought.

That's what I was wondering. I'm glad the girl turned out okay. Too bad the school district is a bunch of idiots. Drug policy or not....sometimes exceptions need to be made. This is one of those cases. :

The truly sad part is if he did not help her and she died they would charged him with failure to render aid. It seems sometimes the kids got more sense than the highly educated teachers.

go figure

Gentlemen -

This is a prime example of "letter of the law" obedience taking presidence over common sense behavior, a result of our litigious sue happy society and administrators afraid to make a decision due to liability issues. All reason has been tossed aside in favor of the politically correct reasoning that permeates our governmental administrators, this would include school officials..They consult a manual to go to the restroom.

Ok, off the box and back to work.. :

Re:texas drug problem

As usual, i think there is more to the story than the news is telling. When this first came about, I remember reading that the kid was known to give out his inhaler freely and had been warned on numerous occasions about the rule. Havent heard that reported since this first came about. Secondly--what if the girl had taken it and had an allergic reaction (which can be common from what I understand)? I agree there should be a common sense view, but I believe there is another story most people dont get to hear. Glad everyone is OK though.
