Angry Tagged my first deer...with the truck!

Hit a doe coming home on Sunday night. Wasn't going too fast...maybe 25mph at the time. It thrashed around on the ground for about 10 seconds, then got up and ran away.

Pic approved.

25 MPH and it did that much damage?

Must have had a thick skull.

One of these would have prevented it.

Or this:

Hope it doesn't cost too much to fix.

You need to update the url of the picture to the final approved pic's url.

Nevermind, you found it.

Could have been worse Mike,,,,,,,,,, it could have come on in and ended up in the seat next to ya! We have a bunch of deer that roam across the road by my place and I can't imagine what my plastic Sport front end would look like if I ever hit one.

I hit one last winter in Montana at 70 mph and it didn't do that much damage. Kinda looked like hamburger meat....all over the pavement. O'course the Mr. Pickup reinforced cow catcher saved the front end.

My first day driving to work, I just missed hitting two. I had to come to a complete halt. I could only see the head of one of them. It wasn't until I had stopped before they moved.

That's too bad, Mike. But like Dennis said, could have been worse. I hope that insurance is going to fix it for you.

Insurance is going to fix it, but I have to come up with $500.00 first . It will be sitting in the driveway for a little while longer. Anyone want to contribute to a poor college student?
The doe jumped up at the last split second. Didn't hit the bumper at all, but dented the hood pretty good and krinkled it up front.

Not sure if this link to a grill will help you any since your insurance is taking care of it, but I'll post it anyway.

I cam across it while looking at trucks.

Good luck fixing up the truck!

Thanks, good price. I found an OEM grill for 200.00 and a CAPA hood for 200.00 as well. I looked into it before I called the insurance company.

I have a great deer pic, but I can't get it down to 500x500. What's the trick? I shrunk it with Adobe Photoshop, but that didn't work.

Years ago when I was pulling duty at the five sided puzzle palace in DC I saw a deer run across 6 lanes of heavy traffic, all moving about 70 mph+ on my way home one evening.

He looked to have around 10 points on his head, and he was running full out, never slowed down a bit and to this day, I still don't know how he kept from getting hit.

Nobody could have avoided him even if they wanted to, but it happened so fast, I actually did a double take

They can sure mess up a vehicle in a hurry. Glad you weren't hurt Mike, as you can see by that one photo, some people aren't as lucky

That Durango pic (as well as a couple others of the same accident) have been around for a couple years..

Apparantly, the dear was hit by another car on the overpass seen behind the Durango.

It was knocked off said overpass, falling to the road below where it came in contact with the durango.
Notice the lack of front end damage.

I personally haven't had the opportunity to hit anything much larger than a prairie dog.

A number of close calls, and finding out the price of our front ends,
(bumper, grill, radiator, AC condensor, intercooler, tranny cooler, hood, etc)
prompted me to take preemptive measures and get the bumper seen on the Patriot Blue truck I posted a pic of.

If Roadarmor had come out with the model seen on the current Truck of the Month, I probably would have gone with it instead of the Denver Offroad I purchased.
