Running FF3 browser. Although it crashes more, it's a cheetah compared to the dead horse they call IE7.

firefox rox, haven't bothered, not even sure if you can still tweak the browser, no need. most of the time now I run into server side slowness as opposed to bandwidth.

.a faster firefox yet with these instructions...the info below is from another site I belong to..the person is in computer science..I copied and pasted the info...FYI

I am in the IT field and I love Firefox like most you probably do. I ran on to this little tip the other day and I thought to myself this morning while riding my bike to work that I should share this with all you forum users. Firefox is set to default to a dialup connection so it will only download up to 4 things at a time, there is a way to change that IF YOU HAVE A HIGH SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION to download 30 things at a time, it's amazing the difference it makes in browser speed.

Here's How:

WARNING: This tip requires you to make changes to the way FireFox works and if not performed properly can cause performance issues.

If I have not scared you off yet, here are the steps to tell FireFox to download multiple items on a page at once, instead of one at a time:

- In the address bar, type “about:config” and hit return. Next, in the filter field, type “network.http” and change the following settings
(double-click on them to change them):
Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”
Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true”
Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to 30. This will allow it to make 30 requests at once, if you see a reduction in performance, reduce it to 20, etc.

Finally, right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0″. This new value is the amount of time the browser waits (0) before it responds to the information that it receives.

Close the browser and then re-open it to see the performance improvement!

Enjoy!

And here I thought the FireFox hype died when it was proven less secure years ago... Sigh... I'm glad our Intranet and all our DMZ apps run exclusively IE.

Go I.E.! !

Tune up is faster but I get more of the Firefox could not find server and I just hit the retry button and it comes up instantly.
