Angry Surface Scratch Removal?

Last night, after a service and new windshield on the company truck, I stopped at a truck wash I rarely ever use . The bay I was in had a hose where a section of the rubber covering was MIA ( I didn't notice it until later) and the steel braid exposed. Paying attention to only getting done quickly, when the hose swung around on the arm from the roof of the bay, the steel braid part contacted the rear driver's side quarter panel at the back causing a 2"x6" surface scratch in the clear coat.

When I got home I tried Mequire's polish on a terry cloth. It removed some, but not all.

Any other suggestions?

I usually hate it when someone tries to stick it to someone else, but vehicles are expensive, and in this case, I think it is justified.

Find out who owns the carwash, like maybe a number there in case something is wrong, and let them know what happened. Take pictures of the hose, and of the truck, and document the date and time. Ask the owner if he would be willing to help with the repair of the paint?

PB Blaster makes a wax, which works well with light scratches.

Hope it works out for you.

Yah
Here is the deal. If you can catch the scratches with yoru finger nail your SOL
If not a $2 bottle of Scratch-out will work wonders (much better than just polish)
If it is to deep you may try the owner of the wash but most washes here have Not responsible for damages signs posted.

Thanks for the options and information gentlemen! As far as going to speak to the owner, it was my fault for not catching it while I was there--I doubt I have any recourse a day later.

I slid over to Ming here in the city. Never been there before until I heard their ad on the radio today. It took five minutes and $20 cash. Scratch is nearly gone. I mean, I can only notice it beause I know where it was before. When I do get a new personal CTD, I'm taking it there for their rust proofing, undercoating, and paint sealant package. I was there five minutes and impressed.

Here's their website: www.mingshine.com

I just won't go back to this truck wash place ever again. Kinda dungy anyway. It just was conveniently located on the way home last night. So much for convenience.
