Summertime Safety ...
Summertime Safety ...
The weather is starting to get nice again and we are doing the things that we always do during the summer ... riding our motorcycles, fixing the gutters on the house, taking the family on vacation, getting after the knee-high weeds in the garden, playing a game of pick-up with the boys, firing up the BBQ.
All those things that we take for granted doing because we have done them a thousand times before ... but not in the past several months
. It's the simple things that get us every time.
Please, take a few minutes each day and assess the risks and hazards of what you are about to do.
Do you absolutely HAVE to do it ?
Do you know what you are doing ?
Do you have the necessary safety gear ?
Is someone going to help you or be there to watch ?
Have you been drinking ?
Have you had enough sleep ?
I am seeing lots of stupid safety related messages coming across the computer lately and 90% of them could be prevented by using common sense.
You want to really enjoy the summer months and warm weather ?? You won't be able to if you are layed up in the hospital or worse yet ... 6 feet under
.
Take care and be safe,
PISTOL

I guess i'm one of those that need reminding. I'm normally pretty organized and careful, but twice this last week I have not done enough "forward thinking" and someone other than me got bit. Too much stress and too little time.
Now planning on a emotional rest day next week. Hope it works.
