Bike imbedded in the left front fender just in front of the wheel and the pilot went about 250' further down the road after clearing the hood. Cop was on the scene about the same time my brother climbed out of the car due the the flames on the hood from the bike's gas tank.

Just goes to show that even smart people can be really stupid - he will never make a mistake again. We talked to the EMS guys who picked up what was still inside the leathers and to a friend that was working the local ER that night - the human body is not designed to go from 140 mph -> 0 mph in 3 feet. The force of the impact knocked my brother's car in a 57' loop on dry pavement. Talk about kinetic energy.

He'd have been better off jumping off the bike and sliding across the pavement.

The skin can't contain the innards during violent accel/decel events like in a bike crash.

In the wrong hands, a motorcycle can become a donorcycle in no time......

I don't get bullet bikes for everyday use anyway.

Keep them on the racetrack.

Bikes need to be comfortable for both the rider and the passenger.

No way would I subject a female to sitting on a SOS pad sized seat for any length of time,
and hunched over like that has to be uncomfortable enough without the weight of a passenger on top of you.

V-Twin just doesn't do well at breakneck speed, you'd get vibrated right off the bike well before you got to bullet bike speeds.

Cruiser style motorcycles are the only way to ride.

I enjoy my sportbike for everyday use, the one I have is not meant to be comfortable and since I spend more time on the street and enjoy short trips to the beach I'll be moving one step towards a sport-touring bike onto a honda F4i because it's fuel injected and comfortable, I've never had a problem with girls complaining about riding on a little tiny seat...best thing about a sport bike is that there's a weight limit for passengers, no fatties...it's not safe!
personally I don't like the idea of a full cruiser because braking and handling are less than optimal as far as bikes go; and I'd rather be in a little more aggressive, ready stance. not saying cruisers are bad, just not for me. I suppose as I get older I'll either get away from bikes or lean towards a cruiser though.

Well, there's a good middle ground. How about an all-day bike that has more-than-decent performance and will acquit itself well in the twisties? See my signature.

What do you mean "like you're invisible", I'm pretty sure I am.
