Off with its head

Towed it down the road in first gear and it just slipped the clutch. It was smoking out of the timing hole in top of the trany .

So out comes this motor......In goes the 134hp 16valve . I've started to pull the head, It'll come out in pices much easier.

It should be a fun little car when it is done.

PB blaster. My buddy has a 41 ****** that sat for some 13 years. Stuck. Sat for days with wd-40, bar on the crank etc ect. I told him to give the PB a try---he poured about 2 cups down each hole and the engine spun over within hours! I swear by the stuff, but that even impressed me. Give it a shot.

PB sat in it for about 6 hours today. It did nothing. I think something is bent, that thing is suck somthing tight. I'm starting to think that it would be better to rebiuld the current motor. It'll be an antique in a few years and it will be worth more with the orginal motor. We'll see whats worng with it when I get the head off and the motor out. All I have to do is pull the down pipe and lift the head off.

To unstick an engine you will want the highest torque from the tranny to the engine, therefore you will want to use the highest gear and you will want to start to drag with the clutch released instead of pushed....

I second you on the antique with original engine thought...

WELL , hmmm, this post got me motivated to get my 150 CFM Ingersoll Rand Compressor unstuck!

**** things muffler rusted through about 4 years ago, and before i noticed the problem, rain water poured into the cylinders

its a Ingersol Rand Gas engine, and the thing seems pretty built, heavy duty ?

its a 4 cylinder inline engine, Gas fuel :/

anyways today i ripped the head off, and sucked anything out of it.

i have coca cola sitting in the cylinders right now, if that doesnt work, ill try pb blaster for a day.

If that doesnt work im pouring muratic acid in it for 10 minutes and see if that will break the rings from the cylinder walls

hmm any other suggestions?

i have probably put over 800 ft/lb's of torque down on the front pulley
trying to spin the thing, she's sealed good, cant believe its sealed up so strongly.

I pulled the head cut a 2x4 to fit in the cylinder. I beat the crap out of that 2x4 till it broke loose. Than I cranked it over a few times with a socket on the crank pully. The inside of the cylinder is covered in rust.

I've got one more bolt, which I just stripped, on the trans axle than the motor is out. I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do for a motor, but I figured that if I had the head off it was just a little more to pull the motor. So if I decide to reuse the old motor I'll be able to rebiuld it.
