starter

man i had to change my starter bad so i went to auto zone and had the thing checked and the guy told me it was fine so i went to walmart and spent 136$ worth of batties then i put them on and i did not work. so after throwing tools and cussing i went to another autozone and another guy told me it was fine. and i told him he was wrong, so then he tested a new starter and it sounded a hole lot better. so i had to reinstal my starter like 6 times testing it > but now i cant take off a starter in like 5 mins oh yea you my want to disconect the batties my dad shocked the sh^t out him ;D and dont go to autozone, if you do dont listen to them

Re: starter

See, practice makes perfect.. <br>Now that you know how to do it efficiently, you'll probably not have to do it again until you've forgotten all the tricks for doing it quickly..

Re: starter

If you're going to rotate the tires on one of these daullies, I sure hope you have air tools, 'cause doing them one at a time manually with a tire wrench will give you a really good workout! :

Re: starter

I had heard some much about the contacts and plunger going bad in our starters...I decided to order a set of the LarryB starter contacts and plunger. It took about 45 minutes to drop the starter and replace the parts. One of the contacts was just about paper thin but the other one looked normal.
After I got the starter back in ...wow what a difference..all that I need to do is touch the key and it lights right up. total for the parts and shipping was $48..Here is a picture of the contacts.
