Just as the title states.....if you're getting an Economic Stimulus Check from Uncle Sam, which almost every American is that files thier 2007 taxes...what are you going to spend it on?

This sites seems to have a ton of logical, ethical and honest middle American people who do the right thing and I wanted to get some ideas as to really what Americans will be spending this money on? My guess is that most will pay off some debt and use it for food or fuel. Of course, if those expenses are taken care of, I expect the answer to be...more mods/bombing.

I, myself will pay off some debt and spend the other half on vacation in Mexico. Yes, I realize by spending it another coutry it's not really helping the American economy. Let the answers roll in.

 

Well, the only debt my wife and I have are a mortgage, (very minimal) and a monthly payment on her new Ford Edge. Plan on treating ourselves with $100 each cash and the rest goes in the bank... doesn't sound like fun but we are very content with what we have, we all want a lot of things but really do not need much.

 

Fuel for VACATIONS!!!!! I was already saving for it last year when we made our camping reservations but now I can rest easy and spend Uncle Sam's (our) money on the over priced gold they call diesel.

 

My wife and I are getting $100 for whatever, and the rest goes into savings. We see it as payback for the crappy return we both got this year. Although if by the time it gets here we have some debt that we haven't got paid off that we plan on having paid off at that point, we'll be putting it toward that. In this economy, me going out and buying a TV, or whatever else they wish me to spend it on is stupid. I want to get all my debt gone so I can buy a truck.

 

Were using it to make up for the 2 months my wife wont get paied in the summer (School Teacher), Mostly the daycare.

 

It's going into savings.

Mine is going to the Salvation Army. We don't need or want it. If I had my choice, I'd put it to the national debt.

 

If people are smart they will either pay off debt or put it in to savings for a rainy day.

Havent really given it much thought but it will probably be banked.
