Re:Speaking of Oil....

I've been getting the Valvoline from Napa, I just got some the other day and it doesn't have the Cummins label on it anymore, anybody else notice this?

Re:Speaking of Oil....

Tell me if I am stupid or not:
I take my truck to the dealer that I bought if from for oil changes. I have never asked what they put in it, I just assumed that they know what they are doing. I guess the main reason I have the oil changed there (3500 mile interval), is that if any problems arise, they have the records that they changed the oil/filters on it.
Now my next question: What brand of oil does the Dodge dealer put in? Is this a standard across dealerships?

You're a lot more fair with them than I am. I assume the opposite. :-

What you said is the ONLY reason I would take my truck to the dealership to get the oil changed. After you go out of warranty though it doesn't matter...they won't cover it anyway.

Mopar??

I plan to do mine myself because, frankly, I don't trust anyone else to do it right. People nowadays are too lazy and try to take shortcuts everywhere they can. I've even seen one "quick lube" place in trouble for not replacing filters.....just draining the oil and filling it back up. I KNOW that if I do it myself then it will be done right.

I couldn't agree more. I have had oil changed by someone else two times and they screwed it up both times. I will never let anyone else change my oil.
