I use to love going to P. Island with my brother in law (while he was in the Marines Corp.) to watch those guys. Thats disipline found now where else in the military. I bet Madhat will agree!

Thats cool, wonder how many hours and hours they practice? Especially when they're tossing the rifles between themselves.

It is just about the only job they have in the Corps and they really have the suck quite honestly. They have to be picture perfect all the time, they live at Marine Barracks DC and train drill 2-3 hours a day every day of the week. And living at Marine Barracks DC is bringing the suck big time, too many high ranking types and a LOT of room inspections.

I always love watching those guys. Truly awesome.

The only thing that would have made it any better is if the crowd would have SHUT UP and shown a little reverence while these guys were performing. Given the atmosphere that would have been too much to ask I guess.

Incredible, just plain incredible. Gives me goose-bumps all over just watching it. What an honor to be an American and represented by fine men such as those. WOW!

Got a friend of mine who did that then went on to the Honor Guard to the Whitehouse (I think that was what it was called) during the Clinton Presidency. He can still do some pretty neat stuff with his deer rifle, we just make sure its unloaded 1st.

The Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon is amazing. Those guys are sharp as heck, and I have a ton of respect for the time and effort they spend making that routine perfect.

Being an ex-Navy guy, this whole thread made me wonder if there was even a Navy drill team at all. Sooooooo, I did a search on google. Low and behold, there is.

I thought to myself, these guys can't be all that good but watching the video, I thought it was pretty amazing some of the stuff they are doing. To me, they aren't as sharp and calculating as the Marines, but some of the moves are VERY impressive. I thought I would post the link so you could see some more.

I'm curious, Army and Air Force drill teams anyone? Love this stuff. Gives me chills every time I watch it.
