Snow Blower- Which One?

I've shoveled three times in two days and my old back hurts.
So, I am going to finally get a snow blower. I'm looking for a single stage at least 5hp model. The Toro CCR3650 kind of looks nice.
You guy's have any recommendations?

A two-stage usually works better at clearing heavy accumulations.

I have an older (pre-Arens) Troy Built 8 HP two-stage.
I can toss snow about 30 feet when the conditions are right.
(I wonder if I can replace that anemic 8 HP with my Shovelhead 'stroker'......... )Hmmmmmmmmm.

I would also recommend a two stage. Single stages don't cope with big snowfalls as well. IMO

We sell a lot of Huskees at Tractor Supply Co and rarely do I see one come back.

Sell a few Yard Mans as well... last year we got in the biggest snow blower I've ever seen. It was a Yard Man 13HP, 45" Clearing Width, dual rear wheels! It was $2200, but someone bought it and he was very happy with it

Heck, even some of the John Deeres are MTDs now. The MTD is the best bang for the buck for a two stage IMO.

Can't beat a Toro for a smaller single stage though. I didn't look up the particulars on the Toro model you mentioned, but as the others have said, if it is one of the bigger single stage models, you might as well step up to a two stage.

I shovel the light stuff for exercise and pull out the 8hp MTD for the bigger stuff.

I have an MTD 8 hp 26" cut two stage. I'm very happy with it for the 8 years I've owned it. We have a Snapper at work, the same size which looks almost identical to my MTD. The Snapper cost 2x what mine did. Same engine and most everything is the same except the handle and gear to turn the shoot. That's not worth double if you ask me.

Scott, they make a neet little tool called a shovel. you don't have to drag the plow trucks up and down the driveway with a chain.

Thanks for the info guys.
It's still snowing- I think there is over a foot of it

The Toro is 6.5 horse, will move 1800 pounds a minute and throws it 40 feet. I think that should be enough for residential use- I hope anyway. Going to grab it on Monday, that way it won't snow anymore this year

I just bought a 2 stage from Sears a couple of weeks ago. Only used it once but the 8hp worked much better than the old 5hp I was using. My drive is very wide (40-45') and the 5hp just wouldn't throw it far enough. It also has a B&S engine which a lot of folks consider a plus.
It came in a crated carton but was very easy to assemble.
