Snow!

Well it's here. There was about 1/2" this AM when I got up. I went to a breakfast deal for work, came out and it's coming down big time. We had freezing rain yesterday. What a mess. And being the procrastinator that I am, my front driveshaft is sitting on the garage floor waiting for a U-joint that I bought in June. Guess what I'm doing right after work.

How do you guys with 2WD drive these things in the winter?

6- 24X30 sidewalk blocks in the bed all winter, good for about 750lbs without taking up a lot of room

I'm currently working in the bushes South of Chetwynd, BC. In the past five days, we've had rougly four feet of snow. Took some pics, I'll try download my camera in the next day or two.

That's why I live in Texas.

I was living in San Antonio in 1985 when 13" of snow fell. Talk about paralyzing a city!

Smile

we only got a couple inches of snow today.just enough to sharpen up the winter driving skills... and as for 2wd,wouldn't know..mine is 4x4...thank goodness.these things must be fun to get around in without 4x4.mine is 6sp and when you let out the clutch she wants to spin like crazy.maybe its just the crummy tires that came with the truck.

2WD pickups are nearly useless in snow without weight in the bed & good tires. At least my old D100 was.

You are so lucky, It has been in the high 80*s low 90*s here for the last few months.
My AC hasn't had a rest all summer.
I have to drive about 30 miles North to get to the snow or drive 30 miles South to get to the beach.

Man, must suck to be in your shoes!

Got the U-joint in after shovelling snow for an hour and a half. 4WD is a beautiful thing.

I've got two rubber marks up the ramp to my new garage from spinning until I melted through the ice. Almost hit the doorjam sliding sideways. Posi ain't great on ice sometimes.

I was thinking about 3000# on the rear axle, that is not total weight, but added weight (so total over 5000# on rear axle). Plus Cooper Discoverer M+S tires "the best" - supposedly. And 235's, not 265's.
