with the juice on level 3, we took off together, hed managed to edge out infornt of me about 1/2 a car length and that was it, couldnt pull away. when he went to shift from 2nd to third, i blew past him, then had to slow down for a light. when we stopped, he conceded defeat.

If playing "nice" means getting all excited and thumping my chest because I was (or even more dumb: you were) able to go 90 MPH, comfortably wrapped in 7000# of iron before the other guy could , then I'd rather go do something else. When someone wants to pass you LET THEM! No "I stomped on the go pedal and covered them in a cloud of black smoke" or "I put my foot in it and beat them". You didn't beat them... they probably backed off because you were being an unsafe, insane jerkwad. Pure and simple. Some jerk does that to me, I back off and wait either until they exit or get caught behind someone so I can then pass and get as far away from them as possible. Crap like that is why people shoot each other on the road.

Also, if you're off proving your manhood against some unsuspecting guy that's trying to pass you, just how is that "smoking" them or "killing" them? You line up at the light or stop sign and rev engines or whatever and take off, at least the other guy knows it's a race. But not letting someone pass?

Also, for all the guys who have spent thousands on their trucks and then brag about beating anything without knowing if it's stock or modified... just what exactly are you proving? So what if your modified truck beats a ricer with a bolt on wing... what, exactly is the point? If you let some ricer add the same amount of $$ modifications and then re-race. See what the result is then.

And, bottom line here... just what exactly does you being able to spend more money and press your foot down a little farther or faster than the guy in brand X car/truck actually prove??? Is there any skill here? You're just driving a straight line down the road at, what, 80, 90 MPH? That's not all that impressive... doesn't take all that much skill or talent. Throw in some curves or obstacles. Then you're going mano y mano. If you're going to tell me it takes talent to go those speeds on city streets or residential streets, then we'll go down a whole other road about smarts (or stupidity) rather than talent.

I just really don't get how being able to blow smoke on someone or not let them pass you or beat them in a short, straight line jaunt makes you a better person than the "victim". Yet so many of you puff out your chests, thump them and proclaim your manhood because you "smoked a mustang" or something.
