moth ***** might work lot's of moth ***** or cbs in a .22 smaller than a .22 shorts sounds like a cap gun , but will get the job done, the live trap sounds good , but if you don't have one already their kind of pricey

A skunk will only spray if startled or approached head on.

They are easy to catch, without getting sprayed, if you will come at them sideways and avoid direct eye contact.

They will not spray in the dark, either; so, a blanket quickly dropped over them is a good means of capture.

Then, you can re-locate them to a more suitable area.

They will spray if shot or trapped.

Don't know about the spraying in the dark part.. Dog used to chase them at night and got sprayed all the time...

Had to keep a case of tomato juice on hand at all times..!!!

You need a pillow case for that though.

use teh tarp in between you and the skunk so the skunk doesn't see you and doesn't feel the threat..

The horse trough full of water is for the "more suitable area"

I've caught them in a live trap in the barn. Set the trap on an old sheet of tin. I used dry cat food. Drop a piece of carpet over the trap after he's in there. I jabbed a hay hook in the metal and just drug it outside and let him loose, then used my Ruger 22 to direct his path!

You're wasting good tomato juice if you use in on your pup after a skunk sprayed him. Do a search for skunk spray. It's a tad of dawn dishwashing soap, baking soda, and hydrogen peroxide. You put that on the dog, leave it about 5 minutes, rinse it off and the smell is gone. You can use the same formula to get cat/dog pee out of carpet to.

When I was a teenager, I had the "honor" of driving a poor guy home while he rode on the hood of his own car... He swore to all of us, that same method of catching a skunk at night was FOOLproof... He also claimed that a skunk can't spray if you're able to pick his back legs up off the ground... He was pukin' Wrong on ALL counts!!!!
It sure was difficult to drive that car... I thought the A/C would help, but the outside air intake was behind the hood RIGHT BEHIND Mr Stinky...

I didn't know tomato juice was good for anything, except for a fast acting laxative,--- real fast acting.

I assume truck = TRUNK.... His ride was an early 70's OLDS Cutlass 442 with steeply sloping trunk lid back then... If I popped the clutch just a TEENY WEEENY bit, he'd be roadrash... Hood was BIG and LONG.
I had a ratty '65 VW back then and he wasn't going to even get close to my ride!...
